Yes, ninjas can throw shuriken that far. even if pirates beat ninjas at movies, ninjas win in the video game section, might I bring up the following:
Ninja Gaiden
Splinter Cell (Yes, Ninjas!)
Halo(Master Chief had ninja training)
Fable(Want to be a ninja in that game, you pretty much can)

What do you mean, pirates have their own movies, so they're better? There are more ninja movies than pirate movies, heck, there are even ninja spin off movies. Plus about the short bow thing, do you think a ninjas best weapon is really a shortbow? no, it's the shuriken, which they usually train ...

It's true that most ninjas would wait for someone to draw their weapon before they kill them, or else it's dishonorable, but most likely the ninjas would realize what Jack was trying to do, and kill him, plus the fact that ninjas recieve special training against enemy persuasion, and torture. Pirates wouldn't even see the ninjas! They are masters of disguise and deceit. They could disguise themselves as pirates, and either start a mutiny, or strike at the right moment, crippling those pirates. Plus, everything that SuperMan has, Chuck Norris has more of or better of. Heat vision? Bah ...
