I'm hoping it will. It's more realistic. It doesn't influence the gameplay at all, it's just that everything is divided by 1000. But so are guards, see?
From the Guide:
The Attack When you attack, the number of offensive points you attack with is compared to your oponents defense. A 5% advantage is required to succeed.
Calculating Defense: First multiply the quantity of each type of defending troop by its defensive value (consult above table for these values). If troops are shared in a clan, subtract off 10%.
Then, clan shared forces are added to defense (no more than double your current defense).
Lastly 0.5 points of defense are added for each tower.
Calculating Offense: Multiply the quantity of each type of troop by their offensive value (above). Subtract 10% if you are sharing forces in a clan.
