Sorry, I had to leave quickly and elected to hit Return instead of discarding.

Look him up (say on Wikipedia) for more details, but he was one of the very few people whose views became more leftwards after taking office. 99.99% of politicians go to the right after taking office...

My economic score is amazingly enough virtually the same a year later (!) -- I may have switched a Strongly Agree/Disagree to a simple Agree/Disagree. Considering I thought I had changed economically, it's a remarkable thing -- and also perhaps reassuring.

I also veered more into social liberality, as I had a bit of internal hypocrisy left in me last year that I think I have out of my system by now.

By the way, windy, I forgot about this quote of yours:

Milton Friedman, who championed this view, recently apologised for monetarism, saying he "wouldn't have pushed it so hard" (if he'd only seen what would happen)...
