Depending on the way you look at it, Wolf Bite was merely making "a well made point" as well: he was pointing out that the one pushing hardest for the code was Beatles. As Beatles previously used the coding to hack the site, his ends are questionable.
And no, I don't have the original text, but I read it before it was edited, and it was a direct insult towards her capabilities.
EDIT: Just coming back to say that this whole mess is pointless (my two cents included). Wolf has stated that the source code will be made public once the bugs and such are fixed. This brings one of the principal arguments to a close.
As to the others, it's a matter of perspective. Whereas one could view a certain comment as a "good point," another will see it as "flaming/arguing." And some of the good points--on both sides--were surrounded by flaming (or at least heavy sarcasm).
Let's all just let it die; no one can really be proven right or wrong in a situation such as this, the original point (the code) has been dealt with, and everyone's made quite a mess. FAF quits posting about it on RWL, RWL quits posting about it on FAF, simple, neh?
I, for one, apologize for my small part in propagating the mess further.
F&F policies?

Beatles has made exactly one post in that topic about releasing the code. I would hardly call that "pushing the hardest", and it was AFTER wolf made his post attacking him. So what exactly is questionable about Dev and bjorn asking for the code? Beatles had no involvement in that whatsoever, the simply wanted to help. So where's wolf's "well made point"? Nowhere, it was an attack on Beatles.
And Beatles prolly shouldn't have flamed her, but I'd still like to see the original text.
edit: I agree with you. This is pointless. But people keep arguing anyway. So I do whatt I see as right.

That, at least, is completely false. Nowhere in the that topic -- or, indeed, the last year -- have I requested the release of the source. After a bunch of flaming, I did point out it is your obligation (that is quite true), but I did not request it.White Fang wrote: Depending on the way you look at it, Wolf Bite was merely making "a well made point" as well: he was pointing out that the one pushing hardest for the code was Beatles. The original of this:
was, from my memory:Shael is going over code? {The statement which was previously here has been removed due to Personal Attacks on more than one member of RWL}
The reason I said that was that neither Retto or Shael have demonstrated the ability to keep the RWL code well-maintained.You need someone at least reasonably competent to do that, hopefully better than Retto.
Now, I agree that it's pretty pointless, but once started, the principle demands it not be stopped, but taken to its logical extreme. If that needs to be done here, where people are at least free to speak, so be it.

I like White Fang more each day. I fully agree with all his comments.
A few points as this is hopefully running down:
Assumptions that I was HOT are assumptions.
Giving the answer why the code was not released to Beatles was a fact. People may not like it, but not an attack, an answer. If not for Beatles the code would have never been closed.
Although Beatles himself did not talk much about the code, his loud opinion on it is well known.
It is the rules of RWL that when post need to be … er … adjusted, the original is posted in the staff forum. TJ is a good and honorable guy, just does not always follow directions. The post is lost.

Wolf Bite

~Beatles~An interesting point is that, dislike Wolf Bite as much as I will, he has done much to herd the unruly bunch at RWL into a more respectable community. Iron fist in a velvet glove you might say.

Similarly, a few points.
1. By hot, I assume you mean angry? You certainly were, that's a fact. Indicator is that you flamed.
2. I do not have loud opinions... Veranor and I argued that it is your obligation to release the code. I'm not particularly interested in it, however, since a. I'd never use it, and b. I already know the vulnerabilities in it (which all I've posted or IMed to Retto)
3. I won't let that pass: TJ certainly has a chequered past, so calling him honourable is stretching it.

That's a really a mild flame if one at all, but I can see why it was edited out. In the context of the post, it certainly implies that Shael lacks coding ability. The rest I will let someone else argue, I've had enough of this retardedness.
