1. What is a complaint and what is a suggestion?
A suggestion (or bug report) is a comment directed at the game admins that has not yet been rejected in the past, or if it has been rejected, should be reasonably re-evaluated. (If you have a suggestion to an individual player or set of players, PM them or their representative.)
A complaint is any other comment directed at a non-admin person or persons that is not wholly positive. (You may not like this definition but we'll work with it.)

2. Which should you use?
People hate complaints, even the most broad-minded and fair-minded ones. Therefore you should for the whole confine yourself entirely to suggestions. These may often be public, for other members may wish to pitch in.

3. Why use a complaint at all?
If you do have a complaint, why must you make others catch it too? Try to resolve the entire affair with military action and well-chosen messages. Let the people involved know exactly why you are acting. If you are not militarily strong, privately (NOT publicly) assemble a band of friends to help you deal with the problem militarily.

4. If you absolutely must make a complaint...
Don't post it publicly, but handle it privately. PM the player/players involved. Try to keep the whole thing off a public footing and involve the minimal number of players affected. Try to resolve the matter via IM services (AIM/MSN/YIM, etc.) A public complaint only invites flaming. If you know an intermediary between yourself and the player involved, by all means use them.

5. If you absolutely must make a public complaint...
Screw being courteous, everyone will see right through you. Just avoid flaming, but be as direct as you can. If necessary, back it up with military action as well.

6. If you have made a public complaint...
I did warn you. 100 to 1 you have been flamed. Now the best thing to do is either recant entirely or never post again, ignoring the topic. If you don't feed the flames they will die. It's too late anyway, in no way will you be able to get what you wanted. Your best bet is to try option 4 again.

The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

Well, this is news to me. Last time I checked, the forums were here, at least partially, to handle in game complaints, as well as threats, declarations of war, etc...

But, eh, fine. Whatever.

Suggestion: MAKE THE BM FILL UP FASTER! :P


Suggestion 2: Perhaps pin all round results topics for BFR and possibly COG. If that would take up too much space, maybe make one single thread containing all round results... just a thought.

Personally I like to make my "complaints" with military action in the first place. Firstly, 'actions speak louder than words,' so people actually listen to you. Secondly, though some my whine at first, they do react quickly and positively.

In short, shoot first...make complaints later. B)

Perhaps this may sound barbaric, but it is just a game after all.
This transaction never occurred...trust me.
