Ok. This will be a posibility, though. If you get another banner, I'd say you should put it up for a vote as to which we should use. If people don't like a banner, then they'll be much less likely to use it. And, by the way, really like the name Frost and Flame. It sounds cool. Kind of icy, and powerful, and, well, like the kind of game that would be really neat to play. Anyway, that's how a feel about it. But we're supposed to be discussing the banner, not the name of the game.

Slasher modified it for us. Corban was the one who posted it originaly. As to your question, I don't know. If you have somthing you think would look nice, post it, and we'll see about including it. We're not even if sure we'll use this one, or somthing else.

too big.
banners are 1/2 that height
the top was cropped.. then pasted back in, so the edges look blocky
there should be a smoother transition between the two parts as well
but, as said, good effort
If I can convince my lazyness to subside I might have a crack at it.. or help beatles prod Peace to create one..
once we get a name fer the new game.. FaF works alright, but version name would be good

Fixing the line down the middle is decently complicated. Don't get it rendered by the server. Instead, get the version of the GIMP and associated plugins that allow this. I'm guessing as to where you got it, but I've seen this before.
Or, if you're intent on using this and can't get that version of GIMP, get Photoshop. And do this. And you'll have almost the same thing.
1. Blank image. Transparent.
2. Layer 1. Pure black fill. No effects.
3. Layer 2. Plain text. Same words.
4. Filter layer 2 as follows.
--- gradient overlay, linear, NW to SE, black-white-black, zoomed so black covers corners, 75% transparency
--- pattern overlay, built-in stone pattern, mostly opaque
--- drop shadow, sharp, slight movement, black
--- glow outside, green, some spread
5. Layer 3, between 1 and 2.
6. Render flares (some plugin, specific name forgotten) with green on black.
(alternative: Render in GIMP, green on black, copy-paste)
There.
You can see I am bored.
