Install at Standard security level.
Open up Mandrake config center with your account.
Give root password.
Change security level to paranoid.
And at the login screen you now type in a username instead of selecting a box!

I set mine to Paranoid, and don't allow root login... But you should see my screenshot. It's essentially the XFCE iconbox at top left, and panel at top right. Oh yeah, GNOME is a total and utter memory hog.
