All numbers including protected accounts:

BFR: 30
COG: 22
RWL Turbo: 26
RWL Regular: 34

Seriously, RWL doesn't exactly have:

1. The numbers it used to.
2. The large number advantage it used to have over us.

I mean, if we just got about 30 more members, we'd be quite big compared to the ol' powerhouse.

What happened to RWL?

its just old
most online communities dont last nearly as long as RWL has
its only lasted this long because of an active admins and forum

but Retto would seem to be extremely busy as of now, and thus RWL has lost its main and really only programmer, and things have slowed down...

On the other hand, despite a vibrant leadership, FAF never really took off. Thus we never declined. Great excuse! :*laughs*:

Yeah, unfortunatly, we've never had all that many players... Hopfully, that will change! FAF's great now, think about if we had 1,000 players! Or even a few hundred. It'd be great.

Yes, but think of the bandwidth that would entail. It is a bandwidth hog as it is, and it's very nice of Joseph to host us, and very consistently and leniently at that.
Then again with 1000 people some people might chip in donations.

Well, it'd most likely be a while before we got anywhere near that. In a few years, most of us admins will have steady jobs, so we could probably donate $10 a month, or something... With the lot of us, that could probably purchase enough hosting, I would think...

What we need is a nice, stable memberbase of about 100 players.

Set realistic goals! :P

100 would be nice too. Even 60 would be a great improvment...

Hosting is relatively cheap... the high-end (well, relatively, you know) is less than 10 bucks a month. Well, not cheap for me, but you know.

Yeah, Beatles I'm sure you could make that amount back if you placed Google ad-words on your site (in an inconspicuous place) and asked us all to click on it. From what I know about ad-words you might make a tidy sum from it.

I have a friend who has a website with over 1000 page hits a day and ad-words, and she told me that she is making about $30 per day (maybe week I can't remember) so if that worked out and you got more traffic here you could really make this like a part time job :D . And I mean really does anybody mind the ad's on google searchs?

Speaking for only myself here -- I detest ads. They are a moral prostitution. I don't care that Google's is text, and supposedly not tacky -- although it's just as ugly -- but the entire concept is flawed, and I would /never/ put it on one of my own games. It immediately says something about the parent site.

Hmmm here is another idea.... What if you put the Google ad-words onto only 1 page labeled "support us" and asked all of the old time dedicated members to help you out by clicking on the ads? That way it wouldn't be trashing up your site, but you could still make the money from it to pay for better hosting and a domain name.
