Making net profits?

So do you guys make money mostly through selling troops and food or do you carefully make sure you have a positive net income?

It depends on the strategy. Mine, which can be hard to pull off, always have a net negative income for cash but I make up for it with food/troop selling. It's up to you.

In the red is the normal term, refering to the fact that losses are shown in red, while gains are green.

Uh, Ruddie, he's referring to the statusbar colors. Yellow for losing, green for gaining, red for HOLY SMEG!

I know that. But the normal terminology is either "in the red" or "in the green".

whats wrong with 'in the yellow' except that it looks different? 'in the purple' would be neat.. maybe if you have over 100% more than you need to sustain yourself then the color turns purple..

There's nothing wrong with "in the yellow". All I'm pointing out is that the traditional terminology is "in the red". If we want to have new terminology, that's fine, (as long as it doesn't include a new nickname for me), but the traditional terminalogy is "in the red". Hmm, that would be kind of neat, though I don't think purple would show up too well on the blue northlands status bar.

Back to topic; Adar: If you keep an eye on your cash stocks, it's best to use foragers and then sell excess food on the bazaar so you have enough cash to stay alive.

Troop selling is also effective. I use a combination of both.

Troop selling is harder and a bit more complex to figure out. Food is, by far, the easiest way to do it, at least for a newbie.

troop selling lowers your networth dramaticly, only use it if you know what you're doing or are in dire need of money

and there are still loans from the bank
