I just wanted to know if anybody can remember any huge wars in the past. I don't mean one or two people against another one or two poeple, but like, a huge war where like all the clans faced off and billions of troops died, and if anything was left after it... :)

I don't recall any. I'm too recent. Urran, Devari, Beatles and some of the other vetrans will probably have some good ones. I'm interested, too, actually.

Errm. The AA vs. Corim, and AA vs. Dog was sort of like that. Except the AA pwned just about everyone, eh Devari and Iffy (and Corban if he's reading)?

C'mon, Urran, give us some details. And, speaking of that, has anyone seen IFman today? He's seemed rather busy the last few days. School finals, I guess...

Alright, alright.

I believe it started out when I took a break from Promi cause I went out of town for half the summer. When I came back, this Dog clan started up. So, I joined up thinking I'd have fun in there when Karlin (TSR admin at the time) ordered a break-up of the Dog clan. So the leader booted all but four people counting hisself. At that time, the Future era dominated because the troops were so heavily offensive. But I stayed in the Medieval period (Mossflower). I got booted from the clan and wasn't happy about it, so I started up a small clan called the Alliance of the Ages. We grew in numbers and eventually started to outnet some of the lower Dog members. Then I think it was Corban (but who knows, this was years ago) who suggested we kill off a member and see what happens. So we killed off a member in one run and didn't face any retal after waiting for a day or two. Then as we were working on a second member, the second highest member of Dog logged on and was kicking us around. We waited for him to log off and killed both of them in a run or two. So there was one final member of Dog, the one who gave me the boot. At about that time, Boar started Corim up on BFR (Corim absolutely dominated COG if I recall correctly, but that's another story for a post sometime after this) and he was gaining support. Since the Dog leader wasn't giving us any problems, we turned our attention to Corim. They did put up a good fight, but in the end, we beat them down enough to have a little recovery time. Now we finally had enough net to attack the Dog leader (he had an insane amount, or what was thought of as insane at the time). I ordered the attack using Squirrels who had 21 off points and some small def points. We didn't manage to break at first, but on the second try we succeeded in breaking. It took two more runs to finish him off, but we did it and from then on held the top spots for most of the set.

It's all hazy in the upstairs, so Devari, Iffy, Corban, and Zeph correct me if I'm wrong (which is most likely to be true).

It was but a brief battle and not a war, but at Valhall tonight there was a 2v2v1 of online hitters. I checked the game census (there you can see how many total troops, cash, land, grain etc are in the game) right after it started and a little after it ended. There were 2 indys that ran in during this time so actual troops lost were higher than what I had recorded but:

Networth $2,392,530,378
Cyborgs 78,097,826
Juggernauts 203,761,877
Hovercrafts 92,230,726
Dreadnoughts 85,244,632

Game census after the battle was over and 2 empires made troops:

Networth $2,108,598,517
Cyborgs 74,057,322
Juggernauts 143,014,228
Hovercrafts 77,227,670
Dreadnoughts 65,087,487

Total destruction in 15 minutes:
Networth $283,931,861
Cyborgs 4,040,504
Juggernauts 60,747,649
Hovercrafts 15,003,056
Dreadnoughts 20,157,145
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

Iffy's side of Urrans story:
A few of my school friends and I found the game and since we were big fans of redwall, started playing. We created a clan (I think Warriors of Redwall) and eventually everyone but me and Tony's Tribe died of inactivity. I was appointed leader. Tony and I saw AA rising through the ranks and wanted to join. I messaged Urran and we did.
They were at war with Corim at the time. They did put up a good fight, but in the end, we beat them down enough to have a little recovery time. Now we finally had enough net to attack the Dogs, with wasn't very hard, there were three of them and they weren't playing at the time. We then built up net and attacked the dog leader (he had an insane amount, or what was thought of as insane at the time). Urran ordered the attack using Squirrels who had 21 off points and some 7 def points. We didn't manage to break at first, but on the second try we succeeded in breaking. It took two more runs to finish him off, and luckilly we did it during Christmas and he was on vacation. but we did it and from then on held the top spots for most of the set.
Hoby joined once and attacked us a lot, but we killed him.
We eventually broke up the clan from having no one to attack and attack each other (we each had about 4 billion net and 300K land. Somehow Tony's tribe got maximum net, and then the gsme got destroyed

I remember being in a War with Urran and Ruddertail... I can't remember the name of the clan... Help? Frozen something?? Anyway.. It was huge! Me and FWF would attack in the morning (we go visit each other) and then get online in the evening and find that we'd been attacked and attack some more! It was constant battle!

Just a minor thing, not really a big war.
For a while after the Sword of Redwall site went on, the original Warbands remained on my server, because I was developing it. During this time, I largely ignored it, and Blood Wake held the top spot rather unanimously, with 150k land to the 20k each of some 12 other players. I signed up and started to mass troops, and was able to break him in 3-4 days. Eventually I managed to kill him, then terrorized everyone else in the game. I literally didn't allow them to go above 10k land, and I made 300k. My name then was 'We Will Bury You'.

The first round of the new Frost And Flame, there was a huge plot by AA, I think, to return to the top. However, four of us, Devari, windy, Volkov, and myself, started the RR clan and nipped it in the bud. We ended up occupying the 4 top spots and holding a lot of net. Eventually we broke up because it was no fun dominating, and I aided a lot of people, and Devari stored net, and it was fun all 'round.

I don't really play much now, so I'm not the best source for info. However, I used to play RWL actively 1-2 years ago, where there were some interesting clan wars. ROME was notable.

'Tis nothing, young grasshopper. 'Tis but a trifle of a war.

There hasn't been a major war on FAF since January... Minor, yes, but major, no. The wars of times gone by that others are describing were much more high-stakes, bloody, and violent. :D

Or maybe it's just the nostalgia speaking. ;)

This GA vrs. UW thing could get big, you never know. Pretty high-stakes, since whoever wins the war wins the set. But I'd say the ones of long ago were bigger, lasted longer, and were more coordinated, if not more violent. They probably were more violent then nowadays, too.

Well lets compare who is on who's side... not very much of a fair fight for GA. Hehe the biggest war I've seen has been the UW/GA war even though right now it's not too much of a war. Let's say most people involved.
It ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!
