At home, defunct except for the occasional Knoppix:
233 MHz Intel Pentium (no number, just the first one :/)
64 MB RAM
13 GB HDD
Some CD/R drive
OS: Windows 98, apps ditto as above
At home, really really defunct, maybe it should be a server:
133 MHz Intel Pentium
16 MB RAM
1.8 GB HDD
No CD/R, just a floppy
OS: Windows 95
Oh, all of my comps have floppy drives, except for the laptop at work.
(I bought my speakers at a thrift shop for 12 bucks.. like new, sold in 1998 for 80.. they is spiffy..)
hum. yeah, Terminal is rather nice.. I've never really used it before, 'cause I've had some issues tracking down dependencies.. like vte.. (which is installed, but it needs the -devel package) yum said so..
on a side note, theres a folder in your home folder called .fonts (well, there is for me) in which you can throw windows fonts, which makes them acessible in any app.. but not for other users I think (since its in /your/ home folder (not usually an issue if there's only one user)) in gnome there's fonts:// (I think) but it didnt want to let me add any to it, even logged in as root...
(I've got comic sans and veranda back.. yay.. Times New Roman I dont give a poo about.. overused font.. all my papers had to be TNR.. )
Rhythmbox is nice, but heavier.. and xmms has a nice collasped mode.. I just leave it running uptop.. (btw, is there any real difference between using a Gstreamer or xine backend?)
oh, and I've got two other computers, but they really dont count..
