Clans
In the beginning
So you've got your warband ready and you're ready to go. But then you realize; I can't take
on everyone by myself! Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of clans.
What is a clan?
A clan, by definition is "A large group of relatives, friends, or associates." Clan "tags" can be
found on the scores page in under the clan column. If you click on that, you get taken to the Clan Crier page, on which you see info and stats about the clan.
Clan Criers
If you click on the "criers" link on the left column of your screen, you will see a page come up with a clan listed. It will show you the people in the clan, their positions, and it will give you a short message about the clan and/or how to join. There also might be a clan banner, or whatever the clan leaders choose to put there. You can change the clan page that you are viewing with a scroll bar near the top of your screen.
Joining a Clan
To join a clan, you will see a link titled "join a clan." if you click this, it will give you a page with a scroll bar to choose the different clans. To join a clan, simply click "join clan." Beware that some clans may require a password to join and some may not. See the "open/closed clans" section for more information.
Open vs. Closed Clans
Open Clans
You can join an "open" clan right away. An open clan is a clan that requires no password to join. You will have a list of open clans to choose from and join. If you do not see the clan that you want in that
list, it is most likely a "closed" clan.
Closed Clans
Closed clans are clans that require passwords and you will have to message their leader to get the password. They might let you in, or might not, it depends on the clan leader. If not, there are many other alternatives to choose from. Sometimes, there will be rounds in which there are no open clans.
Clan Positions and Powers
There can be at most [INSERT FORMULA] players in a clan. There are four officer positions in a clan. These
are:
-Leader
-Assistant Leader
-Primary Diplomat
-secondary Diplomat
These people have the power to set relations with other clans and change the message of the
day which (Manage link under clan section) is viewed by all clan members when they go to the
main link in the clan section of the left hand column. They also have some other special privileges (discussed below).
Clan Tools
Clan Forums
With a clan you get a forum which lets you post messages and is a good communication tool.
You can post enemy stats, have a check-in page or do whatever you want; they are there to
help you. Officers can moderate in the clan forum.
Clan Treasury
You also get a clan treasury where you can deposit extra resources. The resources that you can put into the treasury are: money, runes and food. Note that there is a limit of how much of each resource can be put in, depending on the clan's total networth.
The resources will stay in until you take them back out or someone else who needs them takes them. You risk someone else taking your resources so put them in there knowing that someone in your clan might need them and they might be gone when you come back.
I. Closed Clan Treasury
The Treasury can be closed, which means that only the clan officers can take from the treasury, but all members can deposit. Only officers can open or close the Treasury.
II. Open Clan Treasuries
The Treasury can also be open, which means that everyone in the clan can give/take from the treasury. By default, the treasury is open.
Private Clan Market
You also get a private market that only your clan members can use. See [link to whatever section of the guide private market is in]
Creating A Clan
You can also of course, create your own clan that you can have people join. Go to the create clan link under the clans section of the left hand column and you can make a tag and clan name and choose whether you want a password or not. It is to your advantage to have different strategies in the same clan such as one guy going 100% hawks and the other guy building barracks and massing troops.
Managing Your Clan
With your created clan, you have the option to create a password or not. If you do, you can choose who joins, if you don't, anybody can join your clan. You can choose to make the treasury open or closed by click "make treasury open/closed" and you can change the message of the day to let clan members know what's happening. You can also set clans to ally/war (you are by default neutral) by clicking the "manage" link under the clans section and using the scroll bar uner the relations section.
Resurrecting a Clan
If all of the members in your clan should die or leave, but you really want the tag/forums/treasury back at some later point, you also have the option of resurrecting the clan outright. You can do this only if you know the clan password.
If you're new, joining a clan can really help you out to protect yourself and you can get advice and tips from you clan mates and even aid if you need it.
I doubt it's perfect so let's hear some suggestions!
If anyone wants to edit it, they can.
Thanks,

It ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!

I fixed some small typos and rewrote a few phrases. Otherwise, shaping up very nicely! One thing though, could you please just expand on the Clan Crier a bit, briefly go over what's on it that might be non-obvious, and also rewrite the clan joining sentence. And then I'll give it my "peer review O.K."
Oh, and thanks very much!
[edit] p.s. I almost forgot, could you please add in a Clan Manage section? Then you can refer to that when you talk about open clans, noting that clan officers can make a clan open/closed. Also, open clans can be joined at signup but maybe that's not so important for the in-game guide.
