Well, there's no problem with deleting if you simple don't want to play, but let yourself get attacked down to below 5k if you do. What bugs me is the guys who grab a ton of land, like you'd do during a normal run, and then delete it.

kyrodo, being real it would be unclaimed charted land which means it would be free to claim so technically you should be able to attack abandoned empires because even though there abandoned wouldnt the land still be there?
