Where have all our members gone? WOA has always been small, but BFR, by this point of a set, usually has 20 + members, not 11. In fact, as I can remember, the last time BFR had only 11 members several weeks after a reset was back in the days before the full release!

Now, unless an 11 member game sounds fun to you, I think you'll agree we need more players. The question is: how do we attract more members? We've pretty much hit all the other Promisance games, and a lot of the Redwall sites. So, what do we do now?

I've a few ideas I've tried, but nobody seems to catch on with them, and help. I'm very limited in the amount of advertising I can do, but I can provide lists of good sites to hit, if some of you want to do that.

But this isn't about my old ideas. It's about getting new ideas, and people commited to carrying them out. So, any ideas? Who's with me on this? Come on, people! I think we can all agree a player-starved FAF is no fun! So, let's do something about it! Ideas people! We need ideas! Let's hear some!!!

One of the problems is that we as a community -- and especially the staffers -- have a remarkably short attention span. Perhaps 'cos we're young.

I think, for a lot of us, time is an issue. I know I don't play BFR, and only log in to WOA once in a while to amass more cash or simply keep my account from expiring.

Also, remember that last month was midterms for Uni, and this month was midterms for high school. (at least in Canada) Busybusy!

I think the key is to attract a good solid core of new members from outside the Promisance community. There was a good topic with some ideas, although it may be in the Lunch and not accessible to the general public.

And, just to put out a radical idea...

Is a theme change in order? :o :o :o

To be honest... I never thought htis would happen... But, he redwall online community seems to be dying... Maybe you could mass email all members of this forum saying something like dont forget faf. Maybe when the next redwall book comes out it might get a bit more popular??

getting rid of gondor will probably help

i say: appeal to the masses. what got me into prom to begin with was on LO's server, it was based after a game i really enjoyed: Warhammer and Warhammer 40k.
i know, i know, this one is after the Redwall books and the like, to tell the truth, it was a series of books that i never knew existed....i just thought everyone here was just a bunch of animal lovin pansies. :P
but now i know different!
point?
mix it up some. i liked the futuristic type promi with cyborgs and battleships and the like and i also liked the midevil type of promi with goblins and wizards.

heh, just imagine the little critters of Redwall grew up and became a bunch of scientists and developed nukes and cyborgs. :o

ah hell.....its all i got.......
all about FAVRE, come on...you know you want to click it

The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

Well, one thing is certain, staying sedentary as we have isn't an option. Is it time to break with Redwall?

Bluewall? *laughs*

What about a game with new stuff, like new heroes, or new missions, or more types of troops... I´ll have to think about it :)

We certainly aren't attracting members from Redwall sites. Are we not trying, or does no one want to play a Redwall-based webgame?

...anyway, we can still keep the name. It's rather theme-agnostic.

[edit] I can't think of anyone here that would actually STOP playing because of a theme change. That crowd more-or-less left a long time ago.

I've decided to come back and i think a change would be good, perhaps to something that no one else has done yet?

Something that no one's done would be good, but it can't be too abstract like Redwall... Maybe... Star Wars? XD Just sayin'...

Star Wars? I don't know... I do like the midevil themes better then futuristic themes... I don't suppose Narnia would be any better then Redwall, though there is going to be a movie coming out... Something LOTR related? That's kind of already been done, but still plausible... Eragon? Is that doable/interesting? It's new, and it has a pretty good following from what I've heard...

But before we change theme, let's take a little time to make sure the reason we aren't getting players is lack of interest in Redwall themed-games, rather then lack of advertising. Perhaps we take a couple weeks to blitz the ROC with FAF-adds, and see what happens? If there's no positive result, then we theme-change.
