Never mind, we'll take your post into account anyways.

Yes, a lot of things can be changed; this code is very flexible. Check out config.php, most of it is well-commented.

i have been doing some thinking. i think the young kid market is a wonderful and very broad thing. we should do something like: <span style='color:red'>strawberry shortcake</span> you know, like Gargamel and the like. Oooo...or maybe we could have the <span style='color:blue'>Smurfs</span>
heh, we could even go as far as to do a Barbie theme or maybe even a Care Bear theme!

The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

NOT I!!!

I really hope you're kidding, there. Good greif...

Well, I voted historically based first. It'd be fun. I'd think Ancient Mediteranian will be well known, yet distant, and able to be re-written quite easilly.

Second, Create our own. There's lots of stuff we could do with that, and it'd be really fun. The downside, it'd take a lot of time to work on. Time a lot of us don't have.

Third: Mythology based. Fun, but, meh, not as fun as the other two. Still, a good solid third, with no downsides, other then time consumption. And we need to find a suitible mythology...

Aye, I agree with the Mediterranean theme. The Americas theme is a real turn off for me personally. It needs to be something close to Medieval Europe but at the same time something completely original.

Dark Ages then?

Personally, I like the idea of a general Rome vs. "Barbarians" - Gauls, Goths, Visigoths, Britons, etc.

But, then again, I've always been a big fan of Asterix... So I'm biased. :P

Well, if we go with that, we'd better not let Devari set it up. The result might well be Gauls with + 50% to everything, and a special mission that makes your troops invincible and lets them win against any odds... ;)

It looks like History based wins. Mediterranean or Midevil Europe seem to be tha favorites. Shall we make a poll asking which one?

I don't know. For one thing, there were only really two sides, The Americans and French on one side, and the British on the other. It wouldn't make much sense to have different American groups fighting each other, or Americans fighting the French, or British teaming up with the Americans to beat up on the French, or anything like that. So that wouldn't work very well...

Again, only two groups. Americans vrs. British and Canadians. British and Canadians fighting each other in this war don't make much sense, nor do the individual factions fighting amoung themselves. No, it simply won't work. It might make a great special round, but not a regular theme.
