Here's the Plan

As bugs and suggestions are fixed/implemented/rejected, they will be moved in here.

I would like to push a new release, 2.5, out the door by New Year, at latest the FAF anniversary on January 10. By then, it should be completely tested. The reason for this incremental release is the need highlighted by a few problems with the fakecron system, and the utterly lacking Game Guide. So, as we've got a month ahead of us, part of which is a break anyways, I'd like all of you to concentrate on reporting and testing bugs. As for developers, please fix and test bugs, or if you can't, then test them. On Duels currently you can make up to 100 multis, so that should be enough.

As for the Guide, that'll be more complicated. I intend to install a wiki in place of the Guide, and start moving entries to it. Eventually a single config setting will decide on whether the wiki is editable, and we'll just ship FAF with editing turned off, or with a dump of the wiki; that's not decided yet. Point is, when it's up, I'd like all of you to start contributing in earnest. It's much easier to make small corrections than write up big documents, so I'm hoping we can finish the guide in a month that way.

Cheers,
~Beatles

[edit] I will probably be using ErfurtWiki for the wiki, as it allows spaces in URLs, and uses flat files.

The wiki is now UP! Please click 'New Guide' on the main page and start adding pages from the old guide, editing, etc. Come on chaps, full steam ahead. For formatting help, just consult http://erfurtwiki.sf.net/ under FormattingHelp.

What about previously finished new guide pages? I know I've finsihed a few, Japan had some, Nohc had some. Are you adding those, or what's being done with them?

Edit: How do we see what pages have been done? Or did I miss something...

I am working on a way to see what pages have been done.

However, as to your first question, just take the initiative and copy them over! If you don't know how to create wiki pages, ask Devari or check Wikipedia. :)

Don't use <a href...> wiki-links, just use links like [Military]. Thanks all. For detailed formatting help, consult:

Thanks all,

I have no idea why that is. I am looking into it...
