So long as the losses are also capped.

EDIT: Tested again, apparently not as much as I expected.

EDIT: Average of 50 acre per turn. Pity it comes with large losses.

EDIT: Hawks =- 1 mil.
Back. I think.

Or only leaders?

I think it's net, but hawks could have a effect on it too.

Buying land has the benifit of not requiring the person to spend runes, while hawk scout gets very expensive in runes.

Just the point. We are not going to make it ridiculously easy for people to do it. Also, the land you already have affects hawk scout.

Here's an idea. Make it so it costs a ton when you are realy small, then once you get to the point where regular scouting is no long very profitable; about 4 acers per turn, or so; it gets cheaper, up to, say, about 75,000 acers, after which it gets more expensive, and by the time you get to 125,000 acers or so, it's so expensive that you would basicly have to be all markets to be able to buy land. That way, it would help midrange people, but people couldn't use it to get a couple million acers or somthing.

1st of all unless it changed from the old game (before the reset) the cap is 500... And second of all the buying land think might work if you set a LARGE tax on people with large amounts of land... Meaning the more land people have the higher 1 acre of land costs.... So if someones has say 10,000 acres, then 100 acres of land might cost them $5,000,000... While If someone had 500,000 acres of land 100 acres might cost $250,000,000 (50x) as much... Just a thought...

p.s. I didn't see your post beforehand Ruddertail... Its an interesting thought...
Also do you all think making it so you could buy land from other warbands would be a bad idea?

You mean like a market thing? Where you can put excess land and the market, and somone else can buy it. Might work, but you'd want a thing that keeps people from sell land untill, say, 12 hours after they got it. Otherwise, you'd have people taking land, then dumping it on the market to prevent it from being taken back and make retal harder if they'd hit somone a lot higher then themselves.

We certainly won't let people keep land on the market like for troops now - which I don't like anyways.
[edit] Apart from anything else, there should be a tax on stuff on the market that's proportional to how long it's there. Oh well, maybe the 20% is enough.

I'd say the 20% is good. For land, maybe make like a 60% loss if you recall it from the market, or just make it unrecallable.

OK, I'll think about it.

And yes the other admins are also welcome to think about it...

Sounds like a good idea to me ruddertail... I would vote for making it un-recallable, though you would need to make an option to readjust the price after its put on the market which might not be a bad idea for everything.

Hawk scout = suicide.
More land, but you'd better have the resources to back it up.
Still, quite fun, though I wish it was a game of 5 vs 5.

EDIT:
Why is all of my land suddenly unused. And, no, I don't mean the new land. I got 5k new, and have 15k unbuilt.
Back. I think.
