What Theme?

You can talk about anything here, not necessarily game-related. You may also advertise here.

This has stalled a bit here.

Why don't we have ideas from within specific themes?

The genres that have won this round are:

1. Historical
2. Original (Fantasy)
3. Mythology

Now, I suggest that everyone comes up with some sort of proposal for a theme. For example, I could propose a Roman-based Historical theme. Once we have enough ideas around, we can vote between Historical, Original, and Mythology. From there, we can decide on an individual idea.

Remember, BFR (name will change) and WOA will share a common theme. They can be somewhat different in terms of names, races, and troops, but should be similar conform to the general idea. Duels and Special Rounds MAY deviate. So, even if your idea is not chosen, it may be used later on. :)

Start writing! If we work on this, we might be able to start Jan. 1st!

I think it would be cool if it was lotr. Alot of people avoid FAF because of the mice, squirrels etc. I personally enjoy the books, but it could help expand the playerbase if you change the name.

Yeah something like LOTR/Warhammer might attract more people... I do like Redwall don't get me wrong but alot of people don't...

Could we just stick with Redwall for the 2.5 release? It would be too much of a hassle to see the effects of a larger change through seamlessly until then.

I'd tend to agree with windy. No point in changing to LoTR, there are already enough promisances with orcs, drawves, elves, etc. out there. Maybe not exactly LoTR, but fairly similar.

If we're going to change, we need something distinuishing. Not something that already has a lot of similar things out there.

Yes, we do need ideas... Chirstmas break should free people up to work, though.

For a historical:

Mediterainian/Gulf area.

Tribes:

Romans
Greeks
Carthginians
Germanic tribes (2 - 3)
Persians
Arabic tribes (2 - 3)
Israel? (The weren't a major power at the time of Rome, but, then again, neither was anybody else, except Carthage... Israel did have some major power before that, however.)

Troops... um...

Swordsmen:
Archers
Spearmen
Galleys

Magic people... I don't know.

Just a basic idea... additions needed.
