* Race Names and Stats
1. We have some race info hammered out, although I'd like for the stats to be adjusted slightly in so they're not all sterile multiples of 5, but something more seemingly random.
http://numsum.com/spreadsheet/show/10762

* Troop and Attack Names
Currently, we have very Redwall-ish names. What should replace Mice, Squirrels, Hawks, etc.? What names do we give to what are now Guerilla Strikes, Archer Attacks, etc.? I wouldn't like any magic in our new theme.

* Mission Names
What shall we call the various missions? Do their names need to change? Note above about no magic.

* Building Names
What do we call our buildings? Do we need to change their names much?

* Era Names
These evidently need to be changed, but to what regions around the Mediterranean can we assign them? Shall we use more or less eras?

* Other Issues
Whatever I forgot to mention, please mention, and maybe propose a change to.

foot soldiers... archers... horseback riders (forgot the name)... catapults?
Guerilla, Archer, all can be carried over.. they're kinda standard attack names

* Mission Names

call them leaders.
change runes back to loyalty. bit of a turn back twards rwl, but it would make the most sence. honor or somthin else if you dont like loyalty
poisen, burn crops, steal, move north (south), gather..
most can be done without magic

* Building Names
What do we call our buildings? Do we need to change their names much?

current names can stand as is

* Era Names
These evidently need to be changed, but to what regions around the Mediterranean can we assign them? Shall we use more or less eras?

coast / plains / mountains
? that would make it easy to assign specialties to each region if we wanted to later

Don't be kidding me windy, Leaders/Loyalyt never /ever/ made sense. How can you have leaders that are completely useless in battle, that stay in droves of 100-175 in huts, and how in the world can you quantify and gather "loyalty"?

Yes, Spies is better. Is anyone in favor of calling them Diplomats, a la Civ? I personally think Spies is better, but who knows.

Trireme is best known, I think we'd best go with that for a naval troop.

Spearmen: didn't they have Pikemen, or were those later? And shouldn't we call Footsolders Infantry? Also, no Horsemen?

Mind you, I have no idea about most of these troops, so consider all I said just throwing out suggestions.

Pikes aren't around for a long time in common use, if memory serves.

Mind you, I'd like to see unique names for the troops in each race. Although, that might be a little confusing.

Spies, for sure.

I think the following mission names ought to be changed:
* Murder -> maybe Incite Troops?
* Raise Defences (to Patrol or something)
* Poison -> Poison Crops
* Destroy Runes
* Hawk Battle
* Move North
* Move South

What do we change Runes to?

Technically the Macedonians used pikes, since a pike is just a really long spear. Slight differences, but essentially that's what they are.

But infantry should be called Phalanxes because that was the primary mode of fighting until the Romans came along, well for the most part in the time period we are set in. Archers/slingmen, Cavalry for a certainty, most powerful offensive weapon ever introduced until the gun. Or chariots I suppose, but cavalry is better. And Triremes would be best I suppose.

Leave missions as is, but change Runes to Loyalty. And Hawks should become spies.

Buildings can all be left alone, cept I would change huts to training facilities, or dens/nests.

North Africa, Mediterranean, Asia. for "Eras" Note: SHould be changed to "area" or "location".

That's all I've got for now.

Why this obsession with Loyalty? I think it was a stupid concept when Boze introduced it and I think it's still stupid. No loyalty thank you. Think up something better.

As to your other proposals, they're fine. You and Neo can argue it out and we'll take what the victor proposes. :D

[edit] Should we rename workers to slaves? I know they can be taxed so maybe not. What do you guys think?

Archers were one of the deadliest forces to be reckoned with, actually. I'll make them a strong defensive troop and assume nobody put them on horseback.

One last thing. What shall we call warbands? Surely not empires.

*laughs*. Let the battle of the history nerds commence. Umm. Loyalty actually makes sense in this instance, think about, in order for your spies to do their job, you need them to be loyal to you, if they aren't, they won't do it or will switch sides. Honor wouldn't work, cause well, they're SPIES, and what else you call it? Graft? Influence? Those don't work as well as loyalty.

You can't collect loyalty, you can't send it, you can't say I have 1,047,215 loyalty and want to send 134,506 to my friend. Silly concept.

Hmmm. Good point, how about "graft" then? That's a quantifiable thing.

It isn't, come on. Who's ever heard of sending corruption over to a friend in aid?

That's not what graft is! Graft is money skimmed off the top of a transaction. Generally associated WITH corruption, but graft is not corruption, graft is how most clandestine things are paid for.
