Things are pretty awesome when 8 thousand Spearmen are an unstoppable army. :)

Heh...Does anyone else think that losing 26 units out of 5,000 troops when taking 1,000 acres of is a little low? It just looks odd.

I know it the same number as if the scaling had not occured but still... 80 thousand spear men would seem better...But it is still cool though!!! XD

I think the scaling is perfect. The biggest army the world ever saw in those times only had 500,000 people in it. And that was the Persians, whose empire stretched from Greece to Pakistan.

That is true, but it still looks weird. I mean, it makes sense that they should win if they have superior numbers, but at what point is it even an army? 1000, 10000, 1 million? If you are aiming for historical accuracy, then yes...8 thousand is a good amount.

Scaling so it makes sense is nice, but this insanely small numbers stuff is just anoying. Playablility before historical accuracy. If this starts driving members insane, we've got problems...

Personally, I much prefere the larger numbers. I'd rather have 100 mil mice then 1mil, any day. Even if they both have the same attack power...

In other words this grasp for the old numbers is purely irrational?

Not really. It's historically accurate, but it may cause some troubles for the members.

Most other online games don't let you have armies running into the millions. By the way, I returned slaves to the original scale, as it's more accurate that way. If you have a lot of land, 75k slaves makes more sense than 75...
