Hi, I come from medievalempires.org, and since you guys seems to be the creators of promisance, I am asking for your opinions.

I was wondering whether the above offenses warranted a deletion of my account

My email address is ez.dude@gamail.com and I've always kept that as my address. (The funny thing is I've communicated with him before using that email address) Yet he states I must re-create an account just cus I didn't put my exact real name... To make things worse, I've had this account since Apr 5 '06. It took Jason that long to tell me this!!!! I wasted so much time getting heroes nd consolidating my position.... Its also a game where there is no reset.

I'm uber-pissed atm, so what do you think? Is this decision fair on the part of the administrator? (He is the only admin we have)

PS I personally think its an abuse of power since we are enemies ingame and I think its just a ploy to get rid of me. Do you guys put ur real names exactly when signing up for games?

To start out, we are not the creators of Promisance... There are a bunch of Promisance games that presceed us. We just have one of the best branches of Promisance

I can see why the admins want real "real" names, as to aid in the detection of multis... Sometimes I put my real name, sometimes not, depending on who is operateing the server and how much I trust them.

I do, but most people don't. The only reason real name is used is so you can remember it if you want to delete your account. Looks abuse of power - ish to me...

I NEVER use my real name. I consider the Real Name field to be more of a "delete account password" than anything else.

Unfortunately, their server == their rules. Assuming your email address was valid, I strongly disapprove, but there is little I can do. I think there is something in the server rules that says you must use a real name... We don't enforce that here, though.

PS. Yes I know several people do not use their real names. Most have though. Freenhult I noticed but you have a valid email and you haven't broken any of the other rules. Ecthelion has broken almost everyone. Including the taking advantage of the vacation bug after I disabled Gondor's account for doing that.

PSS. Ecthelion thinks he can slander me and run around and cry about everything and keep his account. Determine whether you all think that is fair to the other players.

what I think most people miss is that these games exist only due to their admins
we are guests on other's property, and the admins have a right to do whatever they want. its their server, their bandwidth you're using

I have four personal email addresses, one for spam, one for school, one for everything else, and a backup. actually, five if you count the email I created to give to games (noseeemail)

So thats the story. Meh, in that case, I don't see any problems. But disabling an account for not using their real name is pretty petty sounding. If there are other reasons, why not just cite them?

Please don't be too hard on Taris. He tries his best to keep the multi's and other junk accounts off the server. I have been out of contact until recently with a number of things happening in real life. Usually he will email me and we discuss things before anything happens, but since I have been out of reach he was just acting as he saw fit. Hopefully I can get things back up and rolling again and help out more.

I never use my real name either, but I do use a correct e-mail address. Of course you need one of those here to get your validation code.

I don't think that you should be disabled, especially if you're in a war against him and it's been a month since you signed up. For other "crimes" things though, that's up to him.
