You're still winning, though.

I just might.

Kraken: Check your news history for the amount of cash. then you'll get just as much credit as you deserve, be it good or bad.

Arthus: Even 850 mil net is less than what I would expect from a player with that many attacks and this much land. 60-70k land vailable per run, which should take roughly a week and a half to 2 weeks for someone to get over a bil net.

when was the land ever at 60-70k? It only got over 50 in the last week. Dont comment when you dont play or pay close attention. And you dont start with 60-70k land, and the game is only one month long, nbever had that much land at any point in this game anyways. when the game starts there is only like 10-15k land to work with, not much.

Yeh we were never switching that much land. The only games I have seen like that are the ones that people kill people a lot allowing for lots of land to enter circulation

That number is from looking at the land in the game and assuming that an aggrssive land grabber should be getting that much land per run. 60k if hit limits are an issue 70k or so if it's not. I'm well aware of how land typically progresses in a set, and I based my networth estimation on a curve based on how I would expect land to grow in the game. That's why I said a week and a half to 2 weeks, to allow for some slop in the land in game. If every run was at 65k it would take 1 week to get that.

I had 60k at one point in the game... so there was enough for that kinda aggressiveness.

Meh, I never had a chance at winning, as I never market stored. Maybe next round...

Congrats, Arthus.

And yes, 60k land was achiveable, but difficult, and not something you'd get every run. I think I only got that much a couple runs over the course of the set.

Meh, yeah, but if you want to win the set, that's what you've got to do. Market store up a bunch of junk, then pull it at the end of the set.

That's been the general sentiment for the past year or so. :P

The problem is, you and Beatles are too busy to deal with it, and nobody else who has the time can code worth a penny...

Well, yes, but we still need a solid solution that everyone can agree on before even touching the code.

Solutions I can think of offhand:

1: Only allow 25% of troops on the PM at a time.

2: 72 hour time limit for goods on the market. If it doesn't sell in 72 hours it gets returned to your empire minus the penalty you would pay had you pulled them off normally.

3: Disallow pulling troops/grains on the market. You may want to allow price changes if you adopt this, but price changes should have a delay to avoid abuse. Example if my troops arn't selling for $1,000 I can change it to $900, but the price won't change for 6 hours.

Here's one:

1) You still have to pay upkeep on troops on the market; and then
2) Institute a "reserves" feature, which essentially allows a portion of your troops to be put into a reserved state which takes, say, a day to call them up from. You still have to pay a reduced upkeep on them, however. And perhaps you can't use that feature in the last few days of a set. ;)

I thought we were going to do the basic reserves idea? 25% of troops, 25 - 50% upkeep, can be pulled at any time, markets given insanely high commision for pulling (upwards of 60%).
