Everyone is on about how cool Perelman is, but I think he's rather selfish. He has after all living relatives to support: no matter how preoccupied he is with his own troubles (which his colleagues say do exist), they shouldn't let him cloud his perspective so he only sees them. Besides, I bet that whoever absorbs the Clay institute's money now sure won't give it to a charity.
