Those were the good Tesla Coils. They were useful, compared to the RA2 ones.

RA1 TCs were self-sufficient, but RA2 tried to make soviet players be more offensive, and balanced the game, since the allies suck in general.
However, with 5 or 6 Tesla Troopers in a TC complex of 3 or 4 on the edges of a base...
