I just went 4 straight days without being on the net, I'd clearly be a liablility at this point.
NK's nukes may not be tactically effective, but PR-wise it's just as powerful as any bomb out there. Think about the political implications if we were to get involved in a nuclear war (regardless of the quantity or quality of nukes our enemy has) while in the process of subjagating another crappy country. It would make things very, very difficult for the President if he had that on his record.
Beatles does bring up a valid point about the MAD aspect of using nukes, and the most obvious solution open to NK would be to have a 3rd party use the nuke(s). NK can go to whatever country we set our sights on next (looks like Iran is a good possibility, but judging by our past cycles regardless of who it is it should be coming up after one more complete election cycle at the latest) and they can tell them they can offer nuclear protection if they agree to conditions XYZ and once we go to war with the country in question NK can simply delegate any 3rd party they want to actually detonate the nuke. Al Qaeda would be the assumed choice, but there are plenty of others.
