Oh, and who gives you a right to complain, just because you Canadians can't wait to stuff your faces? I suppose if you decided you didn't want to wait to decorate a tree and give gifts, I'd get yelled at for wishing a Merry Christmas on the 25th, eh?

Ah, but the 25th is late. Hungarians open presents on the 24th, unlike the Anglo-Saxon tradition.

Yes, but Christmas is still the 25th Beatles, even in Hungary. So saying Merry Christmas on the 25th would not be too late.

And Devari, we are both democracies, so it's a numbers game. North America votes, our thanksgiving wins. XD. W00t for America being the 3rd most populous nation on Earth!

I prefer to start celebrating Christmas on Dec. 17th, like it used to be before Christians perverted the holiday. Shame really, taking a time of perfectly fun drinking and debauchery and putting some crazy religous twist to it.
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

Well Christians more just adopted the holiday than perverted it. They borrowed from many places when creating the Christian traditions. Christmas is just a borrowed pagan holiday, that's always been celebrated sometime around the 25th. It used to be a celebration of the winter solstice.

When they banned the naked caroling they perverted it. When they took the orgies out they perverted it. When they put the birth of Jesus in they perverted it. When they tried to make it a quasi moral holiday they perverted it.

If you've got any complains to make about others perverting your favorite traditions, please first apologize for perverting the meanings of gay, queer, faggot (We the administration, sincerely hope that this word meant 'wax'.) (We the administration, sincerely hope that this word meant 'wax'.), head, ass, cum, teabag, bitch, prick, dick, cock, mick, kraut, guinea, suck, blow, dude, frog, bird, dumb, bloody, bleeding.

All right, the latter two are Christian-derived profanities.

Point is, traditions change. Get with the program.

All of those words originally had perfectly acceptable meanings. These days you can't use three-quarters of them.

We got too complicated
It's all way over-rated
I like the old and out-dated
Way of life

Back when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when

I love my records
Black, shiny vinyl
Clicks and pops
And white noise
Man they sounded fine
I had my favorite stations
The ones that played them all
Country, soul and rock-and-roll
What happened to those times?

I'm readin' Street Slang For Dummies
Cause they put pop in my country
I want more for my money
The way it was back then

I miss back when
I miss back when

Give me a flat top for strumming
I want the whole world to be humming
Just keep it coming
The way it was back then

Back when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke

;) Country song ofcourse, a halfway decent one at that

I think I read somewhere that the Christians aligned Christmas with the Pagan holiday to make Christianity more appealing (no I dont have FF2 yet) and/or acceptible (etc)

also, being a vegitarian, I had tofu turkey for turkeyday.. quite good!
pies are teh awesome
Hobbs FTW!
