It really doesn't make sense. I mean, the player can already "raise taxes" under management. The mission doesn't do anything as far as the players tax rate, their markets, or their workers.
Why not change it back to loot? That makes sense, really. A large nation would naturally loot the surrounding countryside, small tribes, etc.

Because they aren't looting the surrounding countryside, they are getting it internally. I suppose it could be changed to "Raise Funds" though. As in, an alternative method for getting money, besides taxes.

The names are all ones I was forced to come up with on the spur of the moment and while a topic was open for a month or so, nobody contributed many suggestions. If you want to do so though, make a proper suggestion. I like Volkov's btw.
The Romans used to do that, when they were in shtuck, the matrons would out and sell the jewelery and bingo Rome would be saved. (Or so the legends go.) We could call it something snappy, "Fund-raise" or "Raise Funds".

Freen - No, I don't like anything to do with "taxes". We already have a tax rate, why do we have to have spies taxing people as well?
Beatles - I wasn't here a month ago. And "change it back to loot" was a suggestion. But "Raise Funds" is fine, too.
Volkov - Why aren't they looting the surrounded country side? There's no reason why they might not be...

Taxes is the only way you can make money within an empire. And its a special tax, so the tax rate would have no effect on it whatsoever. So therefore is would work. Which is why I suggested it. I agree, raise taxes has no effect on the tax rate. Neither does a special tax. Therefore Collect War Tax is slightly better.
Pillageing/Looting would have negative effects on an empire. Not sure where your "looting" though. Why loot when you can more effectively tax the upper class!
Raise funds is too abstract. How are you raising funds? I must know!

You don't loot your own citizens Rudder, it is not conducive to maintaining a large empire. That's why loot is bad. If you are referring to looting your enemies, well, difficulties there too. Looting would be an act of war, even to nations you are friendly towards, and would have to be put under attack spells instead of where it is now, which makes it no different from the current "rob people of money spell".
Selling jewelry, squeezing nobles, war bonds etc. Plenty of ways to get money without taxes. Raising funds is a general term for it. Works well too.Raise funds is too abstract. How are you raising funds? I must know!

I didn't need an explanation Volkov. Obviously you read it a bit to literal. ~_~ So, Sell goods. Thats would be the new "Raise Tax" spell. 'Tiss what I was getting at.Gen. No, it's more than that. For example, when the US wanted to raise money for the world wars, it did several things, one of which was to sell war bonds. Another was to get the wealthy to donate money to the war effort. It's not just selling goods, in fact, that's not even most of it, when I said "sell jewelry" I was referring to the comment Beatles made.
Raise Funds would be the best general term for it.
Sorry, I'm in literal mode. I was switching between this forum and another one, where the people are far more literal and pounce on any gaps in logic like rabid wolves. One of the reasons I missed FAF so much. Also because the intellectual caliber of people here is much higher, because that forum also contains idiots who make these retarded statements about ghosts and science that I just find offensive, but the forums rules are so strict that I have to limit my responses or I will get in trouble. Personal attacks like, "That's just stupid" are not allowed, even when the statement is just plain retarded. Damn wolfie for ever getting me to go there. (Wolfie is a member of the RB squadron me and Neo belong too)

What ever you want. I was just drawing a concusion. So you could make it "Sell war bonds" I don't know. Something cool, yet goes along with our theme. Can't have 20th century mixing in. (I know it was an example, but just saying regardless)

Of course you don't loot your own citizens. But around a large empire, unless all its' borders are with other large empires, you have a number of smaller, unorganized tribes, villages, and groups. It would only make sense that the empire would loot them, or force them to pay tribute, or something.
Loot. I still like like the old loot.
But, if that doesn't work, Volkov's "Raise Funds" is good. Better then the current, which I still find it hard to believe I was around for the naming of. Are you sure that wasn't after when I first left...?
