The OS theme would be fun, sorta like hack - I never actually got to see that, but from what I did see, it looked pretty good. But meh that's just my personal opinion

Alrighty, since thats not the big deal, whats the new major plan?

I'd FIRST. And I stress this. First like to implement the new market system before we mess with anything else. That might be more than we need to get more people going.

Once I get back to school, I'll start working on game guide again. I'd like input on what to put in there other than the basics.

Hmm, the solution to the market is no problem at all:
1. let people only get 20% of their units/food back if they get it from the market
2. If people sell something at the market, you can't get the stuff back from yourself except if you buy your own stuff.

that will still allow bank stuffing - just make it so only 20% of your net can be on the market at a time.

I;m a little unclear what you are saying here

1-you are saying impose an 80% commission?
2-No idea, could you clarify?

I think that cash from market sales shuld go directly to your account no matter what

To the best of my knowledge, the end of market storing coincides with the end of this BFR set. The beginning of the end... with WoA coming on line once more.

Freen - since we seem unable to get anything done with theme atm, let's focus on

Main Page Redesign
Signup system redesign and/or global accounts.
Tutorial to walk players through the basics of a simple strat, a little bit of attacking, etc. This should be in-game/on a separate program (perhaps something that's automatically there when one creates a global account, and then takes them through certain things, scouting out of protection, some attacks, building, etc.
Various other playability/redesign stuff.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, that's come up recently. Might be more, but...

I had a crazy idea about themes. It may be impossible or way to much work but I will give it anyway.

What about having different themes all in one game by just changing names and skins and all but have that like a top layer? Say someone signs up on the theme of LOTR and another person signs up for Star Wars. They both see troop types and races related to their theme but are playing alongside each other. If the one playing with the star wars theme is attacked by the one on the LOTR theme it will show up as troops from the star wars theme and vice-versa. SO ultimately it is all one server with various skins that correspond with a theme. Everyone would assume that everyone else is playing under the same theme.

There is my idea. I have no knowledge how outlandish it is but it could be something to consider.

It could work with global accounts but it would be a ton of work.

I suppose that could work. Do you think it would attract people, though? Because I think the people we have here are pretty much happy with the historical theme, at least historical in some fashion. The real question is: what attracts new people, what gets them hooked?

Fast, visible results, preferably printed in large green letters :*laughs*: Which is why a tutorial server in which they get just enough turns to take top place, perhaps defend a few attacks from a bot, etc. would be such a big help.

I am going to suggest again that we make race specific spells - new players right now probably get the feeling that all races are the same, and quit after getting bored of the one they are using, probably incorrectly. Having different spells to try might give them incentive to stick around for a while.

Well if you signed up on the historical theme it would all look like it does now. But I know it would be a ton of work.

Yes, but what would be the point? I mean... there's no point in doing a lot of work if people wouldn't like it any more than they do the historical theme.

prog frog -- That would not be much work. Actually writing the themes would be the most effort.

The confusion would stem when people began to quote results in messages, forums, or when the guide used a different theme to the player's, etc. This is why we didn't have user-specific scaling, though that would have been easy too.
