Yeah, that's true. It depends. I think the first iteration ran for about 2 - 3 years, the second one was less than a year, I think, before it ran into trouble.

Then I have a better question, how is an "Emperor" determined?

An Emperor holds the #1 spot or a consecutive 10-day period. He is only allowed to move from this spot during a run. Being passed, even briefly, while not running, resets the time clock to 0.

After a person has held the top consistently for 10 days, they can declare themselves emp, pick a title, and be added to our little Emperors of WoA page.
