The game was based on politics, magic, espionage, group dynamics, cooperation, coordination and war

Where you get your net strat from, is the same place the FA clan got their idea from.
A game balance issue!

A net-strat utilizes networth as a wining factor, is not because the game designers intended for you all to play a net game.
it was for the same reason hundreds of others came up with strange and inovative ways to gain the advantage
its called human nature to find a niche or an easier / better way.
*The further ahead of the pack you get the safer you are!*

If the game was about net alone!
there would be
NO war button!
NO 90% losses from a market buy back!
NO Clan
&
NO other buttons…!
Just a make cash button!

Rules have always adjusted through out time, not to make it unfair but to make the game have better playability.

Would it make you happy if there was a server where there were no hit limits, fast turns, and everyone is forced into a clan? I would enjoy something like that myself. If that could be arranged we would see the gameplay you are describing. Any possibility of this happening ever?

We're actually thinking about that as well. Devari and I were thinking of that. However, that doesn't fix any problems.

If you guys would like this for say a BFR, make a topic with a poll attached. IF its decent, I'll work on implimention for the May set.

Maybe just remove the hit limits for the top ten, like ME. That would majorly increase warfare and diplomacy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the top 10 over 50% of the playerbase? Doesn't sound like a very good idea to me. Besides the only reason ME was popular for however short a time was the fact that it was on a site with several other games, thus gaining massive amounts of traffic. I mean it takes a special kind of game to have the kind of situations I was in there, the Admin got all pissy and made a major code change mid-set just because of, well because of FAF and Valhall. *laughs*

I keep veering off topic, omg. Okay my point is, just because it worked at another game does not mean it will work here, the situations FAF faces are polar opposites from the sweet setup that ME threw away.

Ok, I am far to lazy to read 3 pages of posts, but I will reply on things that I bothered to read. If you are annoyed that people in a clan are aiding one guy up with aid, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. The easiest thing to do, considering the number of people in your clan is to have one or two people mage suicide them, then the rest to murder their nets to nothing. Quite simple. It is not a bug, nor is it cheating, all promis that I have played at do that, Valhall has it happen at least once a set.

Suicide MUF was illegal for eons at Valhall. It's now legal but only after they changed it so mages lost is relative to mages attacked with, and the defender loses a lot less than the attacker.
