I click to go to main board page and poof my topic is flagged as unread to me. when I know I read it befroe I posted it and read it after posting it when the screen refreshes.
but the board stilll shows my last post as unread to me?
anly after I re-read it does the new post flag go away.

I've seen that too. Unfortunately this board is antiquated, not open, probably obsolete, and we never really familiarised ourselves with its operation. So the chance of this being fixed is minimal.

It was to buggy and peeps could hack it far too easily, it made for a frustrating and trying time to keep after it.

Same here, though SMF has grown on me, I don't actually mind SMF that much... but phpbb...... tons of security holes (see milw0rm.com), its a load of crap basically and it looks fugly too... and if you've seen the likes of phpbb fully modded as well... damn its crap lol
Haha, Death, there's like 100 themes out there not at all related to the subX stuff.
As for phpBB's security record? It's the 2.x series that was crap in that regard. Secunia has only one (already patched) advisory related to phpBB3.
