Clench
the giant being stood silent as the smallest Kobald I had ever seen,
trod in circles beneath the edge of his cloak. his head swung from side to
side as the creature thought the best way to hurt the giant humanoid,
just then Clench lifted his foot and suddenly the thick leather boot
came down with a thundering boom, a crimson ring grew around Clench.
Filthy Orcs dressed in fleshes poured from a crevasse between two
giant rocks, Kobalds scampered from everywhere, as elite goblins
shouted commands from the shadows.

a group of Orc positioned themselves around Clench barking and
screeching, half Orc flew through the air as Clench swung his
great axe at them. the remaining portions of their bodies fell to the ground.

A sudden rush and the whole of the abyssal hoard was upon us,
I quickly looked about and noticed the gnome was nowhere to be found
and we where left deep in battle with a bunch of evil beasties.

Kobold fell like field grass before the sheer, Timon with Dryn
at his back, as their weapons sung through the air. Like united warriors
they where poetry in motion, killing one abomination after another
in a duet of death.

Before long more than half the first group of creatures had been massacred,
yet the drumming of feet and clanking of armour seemed to grow even stronger.

It appeared we had stumbled upon a make shift training hall,
here in this large cavern these earthen creatures where preparing for an assault
nearby settlements encroaching upon their lands, had brought the wrath of the under dark

I found myself surrounded by five strange little creatures; they looked like a deformed Dogs
only they stood upright and were able to hold weapons, drooling and barking they
taunted me with their crudely made slightly pointed weapons.

I heard a commotion and looked over to see clench:
It’s like smashing lawn gnomes he laughed with an evil chuckle,
I looked again and he was dancing on the bodies of a dozen or more kobold.
The gargantuan Clench stood more than six times that of the largest of them,

My attention was immediately drawn back to the task at hand, for at that very moment
one of the creatures near me struck my arm with its blunted sword, the sudden slug
gave me a cramped but didn’t draw any blood.

I dodged the next few attempts, again and again the creature tried to strike me with
its annoying weapon, I didn’t feel in any eminent danger, they where but only a few
feet tall and hit like a medium sized child. Their weapons didn’t even rank as threatening,
yet.
It was becoming very apparent I could no longer dodge the attacks by these
almost dangerous creatures, I focused all my energy into the center of my mind, I then thrust
my hands down and out from my sides pushing toward the ground with all my might.

my skin began to tingle the tiny little hairs about my body stood away from my skin,
the tips of my hair began to separate and rise off of my shoulders.
Suddenly the air about me burst outwardly in a circlet of stones and dust, The gust
was so strong, it knocked the kobold away and tumbling onto the ground.

I stood solemnly thee ground lay smooth ina circle about my feet
my body still vibrated, my fingers remained spread and my hands out to my sides.
A pale blue aura clung to my body, with my head held low, my long loose hair draped around
my face.

Gazing through a hair tunnel to a finite point on the ground, I could see the orbs of energy
leaving my head drawn to the ground. My eyes remained fixed as the sounds of the battle echoing
from the walls of the cavern faded into a muffled drumming. A strange darkness began to
close in around me when I was suddenly whisked away to a place of my child hood. With in seconds I
found myself sitting in a city park on a picnic cloth, it was harvest of my fifth year and the family celebrated
the coming of winter, long summer days passed slowly as we harvested the fields and
worked the seasons end. The Orc moved in closer and began to jab more fiercely, only they side stepped up
to me with a certain amount of caution as I did not move, one struck me full on and I stood there motionless.
They quarrelled and shouted at each other and shoving one another back and forth.

Two bright green eyes opened and an evil sneer grew upon my face, it had been quite a long time since I saw light
From my mental cage I slowly gaining my senses I cautiously looked up,
it was like I had awoke from a never ending dream, the light began to get brighter, my eyes stung from the intense
bright flames of the torches in the cave. It was difficult to see who or what was pocking me with
a long pointed stick, annoyed at the probing, my hand met with my side, grasping a trinket hanging from my sash,
in a flash of light an Elvin sword grew from a shining disc in the palm of my hand.

The kobold advanced realising I was no longer in a trance they stopped their quarrelling and readied
their pathetic weapons; slowly I drew my sword across in front of me, tempting them to their ill fated ends.
Then with out warning group of seven or eight Orc filled in behind me and began to attack. I thrust my sword,
it drew blood, quickly I drew it back, and the creature fell to its knees, then with a swift flick its head rolled away.
Another came up swinging wildly with its make shift halberd, the creature made a loud howl then it too fell dead.
Six Orc attacked at once I killed three more and then I felt it, the ripping feeling of my own flesh, reaching
down I could feel the tip of a spear it was protruding from my thigh, my hand was covered in blood.

Then again this time in my arm the blood oozed down to my hand, I slew three more kobold and two Orc before
the surreal light began to fade, I called out to clench he turned and shouted and then jumped
into a group of Orc headed my way, body parts flew as he slashed his way through them just as he killed the last one,
I fell to my knee holding myself up with my good arm, I looked at Clench he was caught
by another group of Orc and was not going to be of any help. Then a dull thud as a kobold struck me.
I began calling out to clench, he looked over and nodded at me, my heart raced as I struggled to stand,
then another dull thud and I was down again. Looking up from the ground the creature stood
over me, it raised its weapon above its head. I closed my eyes and I knew it would be the last time, suddenly a
loud whooshing sound filled my ears, as a torrent of tiny glistening pieces of metal radiated around me like a cloud, the blood begun to rain down upon my face and
just as quickly as I awoke this morning everything suddenly went dark.

Dryn Cresh

As soon as the first shout of the battle sounded I unlimbered my crossbow and began lobbing as many arrows as I had left into the crowd of enemies. The jelly we fought had consumed all my normal arrows, so all I had left were my six magic arrows. These were gone within two minutes, but I scored several hits.

The enemy kept advancing, so I swung the crossbow into the heads of the first two orcs and grabbed my hammer. I felt bones and skulls crush with each successive blow, but they kept coming, and I was tiring quickly.

Suddenly I noticed a commotion in the nearby baddies. An arm with a blunt mace flew by, nearly striking my leg. I saw that Timon had cut his way through the melee, kobalds and a few orcs littering his pathway. He then placed himself at my back and we fought together with great effect, for now we did not have to worry about the blindside...

Timon Kormont

I knew this would be difficult as soon as I got my first glimps of the oncoming foes. In the seconds I had before the first wave of kobolds surrounded me, I withdrew a small golden vial out of a secret pocket in my cloak. With practiced motions, I gathered the makings and mixed the ingredients. Before long, a glowing ball of ether about a foot across appeared in my hand which I quickly threw in the direction of the oncoming masses as I could not yet pick out a menacing target. As time passed and the mechanics of the spell worked, several more of these fireballs would develop that I could throw whenever I had a second to concentrate.

(OCC. This spell is known as 'melf's minute meteors' and enables me to throw one fireball for each level (15-1=14). These miniature fireballs cause moderate damage to whomever they hit.)

BOC.
Drawing my sword I met the charge with parries and thrusts, keeping the enemies out of my space as best as I could. Each time a foe would advance, my sword would taste of his blood, life-blood if I could find it quickly.

After a few short minutes of insanity, I noticed a break in the kobalds. They seemed to hold back, afraid to draw nearer as my blade had killed several.

I then saw the reason for the break. Three orcs and a goblin quickly advanced to my position from different directions and attacked simultaneously. I quickly found myself overwhelmed as the kobalds renewed their attacks also.

Thankfully, another fireball was ready to be thrown, and this sent the goblin sprawling while I faced off with the three orcs, ignoring the kobalds momentarily. I wounded one orc with a thrust to the chest, then made a wicked slash toward the one on my right, sending kobald parts flying in all directions. Slowed by its kobald collision, my sabre was easily deflected and the other orc slashed quickly while I was thus over-extended. The blow, aimed straight for my head, barley skidded off my raised shield as I stepped foreward for a quick grapple.

As I stood toe-to-toe with the ugly brute, I saw a look of horror overtake his eyes. While he concentrated on my face, my ice dagger swiched itself from its leather home to another kind of scabbard...namely his unarmoured back. Extracting myself from the fatal grapple with my frozen foe, I rested momentairly while the remaining orc an goblin renewed their brutal attack...
