Dumping the land will not stop land hogging. It will only leave less land in the game and make those that can hog the land, scrape up every piece of land that is out there.
Look, if I wanted to lock. I would gather up land, actually build guards, and then declan. There was nothing hard about breaking me and dropping land just pisses people off.
Even with guards, indies can always be broken by magers. Best way to block land is to go mage and then build guards, do it right and nobody will be able to break you.
