There's been 2 posts by FAFers in the last, what, week? And a dozen or so by spammers? We need to get this thing moving again. Let's start with this, what's been going on in the last year or 2?

For me I'm engaged, jacked up my back and rotator cuff in a freak accident, and I returned to school. And when I say returned I mean started. That's about it for me, what aboot you guys?

I've graduated college with a Bachelor's in Biology, minor in History. Been looking for a job related to that field, so far unsuccessfully. Currently working at Wal-Mart to pay the bills. Trying to get into management there, so I won't feel like I'm completely wasting my degree. Other than that, not a whole damn lot has been going on with me.

Doesn't most biology jobs require a masters?

This is a 2nd one. We met over Maple too, but there's a whole 'nother story with her. She's a lot different and I like her a lot more. :P

And yeah, I'm an undergrad still.

Currently grinding my way through a physics-mathematics BSc at University of Ottawa. Living with my girlfriend, looking for a new apartment. Keep finding amazing, cheap, beautiful apartments for rent, just outside bus range. ers.

Not at all. Teaching positions do, but the stuff I'm applying for only requires a Bachelor's.

I'm also in the midst of college, working on a degree in international politics/foreign policy. Actually been thinking of switch majors drastically, but that would also mean switching colleges, so. . .

And actually, haven't been around much, mostly because I haven't been playing promi at all. . .

I think you'll find there's a reason for that. :P

Not playing promi? Neither are most of us, as far as I can tell.

I'm living in sunny California now. The climate is great, the sun is almost always shining, the people are less uptight, many things are more sensibly done, there's a working commuter train, there are palm trees but also groves of proper trees, a few hours' drive away in various directions there are beaches, ski slopes, operas and theatres, wine country, the governor used to make good flicks, there's fresh bread at the grocery store at all hours plus there's an organic food store and a great booze store, there are some nice pubs and libraries and AT&T are the complete bastards they are everywhere else. So I love it. Oh yes, there are state taxes. But the point is, California's awesome in a way that few other places in the States are. (Apparently you can even get medical marijuana easily though that's not recommended for noncitizens like myself.)

I'm a second semester senior in high school. I've been having the time of my life everyday :) and I met an amazing girl. We've been going out for about 2 weeks and it's just been so much fun. I love my life right now. And tomorrow for school I have an all day field trip to go bowling :P

Unfortunately, they're also financially messed up in a way that few other places in the States are. Still, sounds pretty nice.

It's been close to 10 years and we still haven't recovered from the shafting Enron and Co gave us in the summer of 2000. We had a pretty healthy budget surplus that evaporated with that horse . We followed that up with the dotcom bubble and then the recession/housing crash so it's been an unusually long road of getting back on our feet.

I know there's a lot of things to despise Bush over, but telling California to go pound sound when we complained to the feds about the Texas energy companies started screwing us is probably the one that bugs me the most. Most of the dumb stuff he did because he didn't know better, but that was just plain turning a blind eye to shenanigans that hosed 30 million people just because Kenneth Lay was your biggest campaign contributor.

You may say California is doing financially poorly, but it's never defaulted on payments, investment is still high, and it still pays for several small states based on what taxes sent vs money received. California is doing fine relative to the US or the world.
