Troops on the public and clan markets now contribute to your networth and expenses (right now at the same rate as normal troops).

Food and runes on the public and clan markets now contribute to your networth (right now at the same rate as normal troops).

Your market holdings are shown in parentheses on your status page and on espionage reports of your empire.

Market commission (percent of troops you lose when you withdraw troops from the public or clan markets) has been decreased from 90% to 10%.

What do you guys think?

I think that's pretty darn cool actually. Maybe we could add a new spy mission to sabotage markets or something? OR change a pre-existing spell?

Big Change to banks. Right now, banks only hold about 1/5th of the cash they used too. This should encourage fiscal responsibility. Protect your cash!

You know, I've decided I don't like the troops on the pub market contributing to NW. It makes it so people can have a bunch of troops on the market that you can't kill, but you still take desertion losses from attacking them. You can't market steal here either, so it's actually a huge advantage. I think we should keep the upkeep costs on marketed troops, but take away it adding to NW.

Without knowing any context of the current developments, I have to agree. It's not really fair to be able to have "untouchable" networth like that. The public market really should just be for selling troops, not NW hiding or (as was in the past) troop storing. :P

You mean my baby net hiding? The fact is, while this is true, its not murderable or really susceptible to desertion, they do eat full upkeep every single turn. That means you make less food, money, whatever per turn and your costs just go up as you get more guys. Trust me, they might be hidden from getting raped, but they are costing me a ton to hide. Its almost seriously not worth it.

Granted, while I'm NOT running, they're safe. However, I do still take a penalty on pulling them based on networth, and I actually have some guys in reserves too.

Its your fault for increasing your net so quickly that you can't touch us. Guess what, I can't really touch you. :/

It's still not fair to have an untouchable troop storehouse that you can put nearly unlimited amounts of troops into that still count towards NW. That's why I was saying we should keep the upkeep, so people don't just stock up huge numbers of troops on the market, but take away the NW it gives you. You can still try to hide all the troops you want, but as you said, it's going to cost like crazy.

Like 10%. Big deal.

LOL. Think I can reach a bil by mid-round?

We should scrap limits on attacking upward. We already discussed that, and that should mitigate that effect.

The only trouble with it not contributing to net is that people will just revert to the old strategy of piling up stuff on the public market until round's end and then pulling at the last moment to try to get emp.

On the other hand, it contributing to net means there's no anonymity. Which is not a normal thing on a market anyway.

Here's one idea to take it in a different direction.

What we could do, instead, is have the public market not be a store-house for troops at all. The troops still live in your barracks, but you can offer a certain number of them for sale, at a certain price (no delays) which you can adjust at will. You can also change the number you are offering at will. Basically until someone makes a purchase, nothing ever happens. (You might also want to set a certain percentage for sale instead of a specific number.) Bingo, problems gone. And it's how a normal market would work anyway. (Also, perhaps a commission on sales.)

I'm not sure how to handle the fact that someone attacking you might decide to buy your troops. Maybe if you've attacked someone or they've attacked you, in the last 48 hours, you can't buy from them? Or if your clans are at war or there's personal war? Seems a bit prone to players finding loopholes though... Or we might build in a delay in transferring troops, but that's weird, because there is no delay when sending aid. Or maybe you specify in advance whom you're willing to sell to -- anyone, or only within your clan, or clan and clans that your clan set to ally? (Again might be prone to abuse, but hey, backstabbing is part of life.)

No no no, that's far too over-complicated.

Also Volkov, the pull back is as much as 30%. So keep that in mind.

There really isn't a good way to solve the problem. The question I pose is this. Can it be a big enough of an issue? Right now, we have the guy on top upset about it, and the people below that don't mind it.

There's a little perspective. Sounds like we need an unbiased mind to actually try it out.

I'm personally against untouchable net. It makes murders and such kind of useless against emps.

Also, Beatles, how is this any better than people pulling on the last day of the round? At least there the net was murderable, and they had to deal with the penalty. Here, it's completely safe, with no penalty.
