Only in that it might be making people less likely to stay or causing them to loose interest. I mean, you scout 200 turns, and get $20,000? That doesn't particularly sound like a lot...does it matter? The whole sacling thing i mean, is it that important?
I'd agree. Let's do a couple rounds without scaling, with advertising, with maybe some affiliations, and let's see what happens. If we don't get any new people, we'll revert back, or go to something intermediate. If we get a few, we can ask them what they'd prefer, and what they'd think other new people would prefer.
Karma is... well, it's a system that indicates whether you're a good, upstanding, member of the community, or an annoying nuisance. In theory. In practice, we kinda don't always update it...

I'd vote this set. Its 2 days in and all, so not a big time lapse for change.
I also voted to get rid of scaling all together. I never liked it much anyway.

I'd vote for this set as well, rather than waiting for next set. Actually, I'd like to see market storing killed for this set as well, but that depends on Beatles and/or FireFrenzy (or maybe Devari?) having time to do some serious coding.
Hrm... it looks like people overall want some change to the scaling... We'll give it a day or so yet before we do anything, I think.

Bjorn, display scaling is better because a lot of the formulas have the built-in assumption of the current scale, that is, things would be skewed at different production values.
Consider an analogy. You can't shrink a human to the size of a thumb, or size of a building -- his volume and surface area are in harmony, and the ratio would change if you changed his size. If he were as tall as a skyscraper, his bones would collapse due to the weight. If he were small as a thumb, he would lose core temperature due to the greater surface area he'd be losing heat on. But if you zoom in on him from different distances ("only the display") there's no problem with the scaling, no inconsistency. You can see him at any size you like on a photo.
