UNIX - An Operating System by Hippies, for Hippies
I'm a commie-hippie-anarchist anyway! 
*NIX, nowadays, IS pretty much made by "hippies". All the focus on licenses, "free-ness", and open source is a pretty "commie" thing.
However, I disagree on the "for Hippies". It's a computer; it can be used by anyone. The current obsession among the *nix community on usability can certainly been seen as moving away from the "for Hippies" generalization.
Just my thoughts on it...
