Several places in the game code it references a Kamikaze attack. Is that something leftover from days past? Doesn't seem like it is used at all.
Kamikaze attack?
Yes. It was an attack that would destroy your nation, land, troops, and all. However, in the process, the nation that you kamikaze-ed would lose however much land you had.
So, nation A uses kamikaze on nation B. Nation A has 50k land, Nation B has 80k Land. The following happens:
1) Nation A dies, with all the food, land, troops, and whatever else it had leaving the game.
2) Nation B is reduced to 80k-50k=30k land, with the 50k land lost permanently gone from the game.

If you go down to the woods today, you better not go alone
It's a lovely day in the woods today, but safer to stay at home
BECAUSE EVIL FREEN IS KILLING ALL THE TEDDY BEARS AT THEIR PICNIC

One also had to spend 10000 or so turns, but, yes, it was horribly unbalanced. It also sucked the land out of the game.
The concept is interesting, but I do think it is somewhat difficult to implement without being unfair and throwing off the balance of the game.
