IS there anyway to stop that from happening? I've done it twice this month and its massively irritating. How are you building without resources anyway?

We've all done it sooo... not just me whining. ;)

Just have enough cash on hand. :) It used to happen in the old Promi too.

If you can think of a sensible fix, I'd be happy to implement it.

Originally you would 3% and you would build but you would never spend the turns. Good for breaking protection.
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

Not sure what you mean. In the old Promi, you would use all the turns, and lose 3% each time. Due to condensed output, this is now shown as one figure -- to activate the old style, just uncheck "Condense Turns".

What if building worked on a per-turn basis and it stopped when deficits occur?

Basically, you take the amount of each building to build, and divide it by the number of turns to spend building. Then, one builds that amount each turn, just like turns spent writing or training... Rounding issues aside, it works in theory and prevents the high loss rate.

O_O Building didn't work like farming before? I always assumed it did, just that it used the money to build then did maintenance.

No, the reason it has always been no stopping when deficits occur is because you actually build it all at the beginning of your turns. So, actually, it is a bit unrealistic in that you get the immediate benefit of the building for all the turns you are supposedly constructing at the time.

In that case, there's the minor thorn that it has to be done sequentially. i.e. if you order 2k barracks and 3k foragers, the barracks start appearing first, you run out of food, stop at 3% and you have no foragers. It can probably be worked around with proportional building, although then you have to worry about rounding and stuff.
But it's logical and a good idea. With a bit more thought, we should probably make that a TODO.

I think this got implimented with the new buildings that took effect after you built them. Not sure. Moving to TODO because not entirely sure.
