Recent News?

Now, this could be due to some change lately and it might not be compatible with my browser but I used to be able to see the recent news on the main page... Now all I see is the links to the clan forum topics and then it just cuts off... No clan news and I don't see any status bar with turns/cash/scrolls/food/health/networth/etc in either..

Seems to only occur in Opera, tried in Konqueror and it worked no problem... Very weird considering it worked before as well... I've tried emptying my cache and still the same thing... I'll try it on the Windows version of Opera when I go to work on Monday unless someone can test it before hand

This is the same on the Windows version of Opera... for now I can use a different browser, but I prefer not to.

Confirmed on Opera; appears to be commenting out the following lines? I wonder if this is an Opera bug or a FAF bug. Checking.

Alright, for some strange reason, the problem was actually '<!-- gibberish' being inserted at the end of the topic title into the database. That caused Opera to comment out the rest of the page.

I did a hard-edit of the topic title and now things seem to be working. I'm confused with how this happened, though.

MiniBB sometimes moves in mysterious ways its wonders to perform. The underlying reason is that I changed the BBCode to use the FAF BBCode parser, but it doesn't have a simple undo, so I inserted the raw text at the end of the post base64 encoded in an HTML comment. Yeah, ugly hack.

More importantly, I just realised we don't have copyright to the smilies we use, which are from IPB. I ought to replace them with the phpBB smilies.

I love them too. It's still wrong. We might not need to worry about it until we are called out for it but it's wrong. Find a CC-licensed smiley set you like, Freen.
