Web 2.0 tech is the same as web 1.0 tech. We still have web pages from servers that may or may not have some fancy software running on them sending HTML pages to web browsers that may or may not be running fancy scripts via HTTP. "Web 2.0" hasn't changed anything fundamental with regards to technology, only the way we package it.
