Sorry I've been MIA. Been busy. Now. Crazy about Kentucky beating LSU.
Minnesota not only beat Chicago, they freakin embarassed thier Defense. And i was suprised that New Orleans beat Seattle, although i must admit that both of those teams really are on the rocks in every fashion.
Impressive showing by Minnesota's offense, but they barely won. 34-31 on a last second 50 yard field goal. In fact, that's the longest field goal Minnesota's kicker has made all YEAR. One of the longest in his CAREER.

New Orleans had to win one sometime.

I was mad when Washington let that game slip away.

Patriots are very impressive. So are the Colts. When they play it's going to be a VERY good game. I still think the Colts are gonna go to the SuperBowl again.

Adrian Peterson has been tearing it up, as long as his past injury concerns don't come back he'll be a beast. He's clearly having a monster season so far.

Oakland's lines both played like shit, Sapp has been horrible against the run this year. I was kinda leery when I heard he had dropped 50 lbs this offseason, and now I know why. A single blocker can frequently push him several yards away from the play and that is COMPLETELY unacceptable for a DT of any type, especially one with a $6 mil cap charge. I was looking at the SD highlights and Sapp would be taken a mile away from the play by a single blocker while the LBs get doubleteamed. When an LB requires more blockers than a DT you know your run D is gonna suck. I think they should move TKO to Sapp's spot, play Gerard Warren next to TKO, and have Jay Richardson take TKO's spot.

Yardage-wise the SF offense has been worse than last years Raiders offense, and that is horrible. Good thing their defense is decent.

Prats offense has been on fire this year, I'm just praying for some injuries to bring them back down. BTW the more I see of them the more I think Belicheck is gonna retire rumors have some truth to them.
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

The Patriots are on fire, that's for sure. I still the Colts will give them a run for their money. Both teams are playing very very well.

Bears beat Philly, their defense seems to run hot and cold, but the Bears offense is finally showing signs of life. They actually managed to win a game on a 2 minute drive with no timeouts. I think losing those three defensive linemen over the off season hurt the Bears defense a lot more than I first though. And of course Mike Brown being hurt is also not good for the Bears.

Adrian is just crazy. I can't believe the way he ran over the Bears. Clearly someone did not plan correctly for him. The Bears held Tomlinson and Larry Johnson to way less yards and yards per carry than Peterson got.

one word can sum up this week: Brady
6 touchdown passes and 354 yards. add that to his 5 touchdown passes last week and you got a loaded weapon that isnt running out of ammo.
the Patriots are more than hot; they are a nuclear megabomb.
we will see when they play the colts right? ;)

shockers: Buffalo beat Baltimore. you know, in one of my fantasy leagues, i picked Baltimore Defense as my first pick...man am i regretting that one. why? because of last seasons performance and the pre-season hype that thier defense would be the best this season. urg.
Denver beat Pittsburgh. this wasnt much of a shocker as Denver is a really good team, but it was the way they manhandled Pittsburgh...

The Lions victory shows that this team is good this season as i pointed out previously, i can only hope that thier roll continues.
Popov: i agree with your assesement of the Bears. what a freakin rout.
Nuke: i hoped you enjoyed your Raiders game. :P

and on a most positive note: the Packers are still 5-1 :P

Just got done watching Monday Night Football. Tom Brady once again impressive. Colts once again impressive. They just got done spanking the Jags 29-7. The Pats have not been playing the same caliber teams the Colts have either. Their division sucks. After the Pats, the next best is 2-4 in their division. Colts division is the best in the AFC.

When the Colts play the Pats, it will like Titans colliding. SuperBowl Champs vs the hottest Pats team in many seasons. Two incredible quarterbacks. The hottest receiver corps in the land, on both sides. Patriots have Welker, Stallworth and Moss, Colts have Harrison, Wayne, Clark, and Gonzalez. Both have defenses that are playing at a very high level.

We'll see next week. Someone is going home with a loss.
Popov: i agree with your assesement of the Bears. what a freakin rout.
Rout? Are you sure you are using the right word there? Rout means to defeat utterly. that's not what happened to the Bears. Adrian burned them for 200+ yards, but they still barely lost that game. The defense was on its heels dealing with Adrian though.

sorry it took so long for me to get back to this topic. *laughs*
The Pats have not been playing the same caliber teams the Colts have either
lets look at this..
so, you would call Dallas, San Diego and Cincinatti not high caliber teams? the Pats have beat them all...
lets look at the Colts...hmmm..Jacksonville, Denver...maybe New Orleans and maybe Tennessee....
hmmm.....
okay.
anyways.

the rout comment.
yes, it was a rout in the sense that the Bears D is supposed to be the bomb. anytime a Defense of that greatness gets ran over like that: i call it a rout.

San D and Cincy no, they aren't bad, but they aren't high caliber, at least not this year. Dallas yes. The Colts, who play in probably the toughest division in the AFC, have gone up against Tennesee, Jacksonville, and Houston, who are all good teams. Saints are bad, but Tampa Bay is good and Denver is OK to good. So 2 bad teams and 3 high caliber teams and one marginal, as compared to the Pats who've played the Jets, who suck, San D who is OK, Buffalo who sucks, Cincy who is OK, Cleveland who is OK, Dallas who is good, and Miami who sucks. 3 suck teams and 3 marginals. I'd say the Pats have had the lighter schedule by far.
the rout comment.

Fair enough, though it's fairly obvious that the Bears D is not the same as it was last year. I think that was so by the time they played Minnesota.

how about them Red Sox eh? i was pulling for the Cleveland Indians, but man...they really blew it, but to sweep the Rockies...emabarrasing.

anyways:

New England Whooped up on them Redskins with what looks like a unstoppable Offense, i mean 52 to 7 ?!???
Brady is continuing to be on fire!
Jacksonville is continuing to look like a very good team and so is Tennessee.
Shockers: the Lions over the Bears. holy lord. i picked the Bears even though i have been saying that the Lions have looked great this season. if the Packers dont continue to play well, they will have the Lions breathing down thier necks for top spot in thier conference.
so tonight! the Packers take on the Broncos...
i am going out on my team and saying that the Broncos are going to win just because they are a very decent team and the homefield advantage.

a NFL oddity though, the New york giants played the Miami Dolphins in London yesterday for what was the first NFL regular season game played over seas.
urch. i hope this trend doesnt continue because the lack of success of NFL Europe has been quite documented.

also, vote for your probowl picks! http://www.nfl.com/probowl
what QBs did you pick eh? i will tell you mine if you tell me yours. ;)

I knew as soon as the game went into overtime that the Packers would win. It didn't think it would be that spectacular, but I saw it coming. The Broncos just weren't playing well at all. That fumble on the whatever yard line was just the topping on a pitiful performance.

Next week is going to be a great game. Part of the reason the Pats are looking so good on offense is that their defense is giving them the ball a lot. They simply won't be able to do that against the Colts. The Colts will score points. Lots of them. It's going to be up to the Pats to outscore them without the usual TOP advantage. The offense is providing the fireworks, but some very solid defense is what is allowing them to do that.

Agree about Jacksonville and Tennessee.

Yeah, I was really hoping for a Bears win. Much lower score than last time though.

Oh and the Colts continue to look impressive as well, if not as impressive as the Pats. 31-7 over the Panthers, who are a good team.
