I think the Pats have been running up the score. But we shall see on Sunday. Personally, I think the Colts are the all around better team.

here is something to look at however:

the Pats have played 8 games, the Colts: 7
the Pats have fielded 331 points, the Colts: 224
the Pats have allowed 127 points, the Colts: 102

now, which team have fielded the most points in the leauge? the Patriots.
which team has allowed the least amount of points? the Steelers at 91.

The Colts haven't exactly allowed a ton either.

....and the winner is! New England!

i got to watch the last half of the game and it looked as if the Colts were going to pull it off until Manning Fumble/Passed that last interception. but! the game was a good one and not as high scoring as i thought it would of been. instead, we got to see two very decent defenses show how they make a great offense even better.

ShocKeRs!
i dont know why i am going to put Detriot in the shocker list, but beating Denver THAT BAD has to say something for the team. Minnesota beats San Diego with the longest run back in NFL history of 109 yards. it was on a flubbed field goal attempt and i got to see a brief highlight of it. awsome. but: what the heck hath happend to the Chargers!??!?

Cleveland beats Cincinatti; is this a sign of just how much the Bengals are not going to recover and be a bottom of the barrel team agian? i mean; what happened to them?
Green Bay beat the Chiefs! the Pack is now 7-1! i would of never guessed it. but! do i think they could beat either the Colts or the Pats? no. :(
Dallas continues to look great with the way they manhandled Philly and New Orleans beats Jacksonville? that should of been with the shockers.

Yeah, I really thought the Colts were gonna win, when it was 20-10 late in the fourth. Then the game seemed to turn around. The Pats suddenly started getting pressure on Manning, and the Colts stopped get pressure on Brady. Until that point, the Colts were firmly in the driver's seat. They may have lost, but we learned something very important. The Colts can indeed play on the same level as the Patriots. I don't think anyone else will beat these two teams, and they will meet again in the AFC championship. Who will win? I haven't a clue. But I do know the winner of that game is almost certainly going to continue on to win the SuperBowl.

you are of course aware this is 'american football,' as opposed to real football. Im sure youve had this discussion, but it is a rather confusing thread title for the rest of the world.

*laughs*, read the first post :D

Volkov: yes, we learned that both teams can compete agianst another great team and succeed on some level.
i agree that they will probably meet agian unless some epic loosing streak happens (which i doubt) and then it will depend on injuries and that is too soon in the season for too many to be wallowing around on the hurt list.

sure thing carbarzo, join away!

its funny. Don Shula, the old Miami Dolphin coach who holds the NFL's only unbeaten season, says that the Patriots season should have a asterisk on it because of the whole taping incident earlier this season.
i disagree, lik many others.
why? because we know that it was not a isolated incedent. other teams have ever and anon done such things and the Pats have been playing great long after the contreversy has ran its course.

in other NFL news: Pacman Jones will have to continue his season ban. :P

Dang it feels good to have a one man team. (Adrian Peterson)

The Colts and Pats game proved that they are basically equal. (Considering the Colts were without Harrison)

I am now a Packers fan since I have Favre as my fantasy QB and since they are doing so well. Keep in mind I'm from MN, that can get you killed around here.

I think the Steelers could cause some serious trouble for the Pats a few weeks from now.

Dallas is way overrated, in my opinion.

The Colts are still underrated. Come playoffs I don't think they're going to go down without a fight, even if that means playing at Foxborough.

The most underrated team in the league though is the Steelers, at least it seems to me.

Funny Kraky that when you mention the record long return of 109 yards in the Chargers Vikings game you forgot to acknowledge the all-time rushing record being set by A.P. in only his 8TH GAME as a pro. :P

Ehhh, so if others are doing it then it's ok? I don't think so. And I don't believe all other teams were doing it. I mean, they may now but that's just because they saw the petty slap on the wrist Goddell gave to the golden child's team and said they'd gladly pay that price. But back when teams thought they would be punished for such an act I don't believe they did what the Pats did for one second. Did they steal signs? Absofreakinglutely. Did they have a cameraman working the sidelines recording it? No, they had a guy in a booth with a pair of binoculars- WHICH IS PERFECTLY LEGAL.

Adrian Peterson has had a very impressive rookie season so far, I'm already puckering up for what's gonna come when he meets the Raiders VERY suspect run D in 2 weeks. Now AP's problem has never been his talent, it's always been his durability. If he can keep away from injuries (beware the collarbone) and he keeps his same o-line he will be a VERY dominant force for years to come.

The Packers need a solid QB before they're in Super Bowl contention. (Gotta get Kraken's blood pressure going somehow)
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

Yeah, I mean you are supporting the wrong team, but at least it's American football.
Dang it feels good to have a one man team. (Adrian Peterson)
He'll be a force for years to come, provided he doesn't get hurt, but by next year, the good defensive teams are going to have an answer for him. Just like has happened with Alexander, Tomlinson, and Bush. Runningbacks have breakout seasons, then teams figure out how to deal with them and they go from great to just good. They'll still put up yards and win games, but it won't be the same as it was X number of years ago.
The Colts and Pats game proved that they are basically equal. (Considering the Colts were without Harrison)
Yeah, and they lost Gonzalez during the game as well. They should have won anyway, but with those two players, I think the Colts would have come back and won it. Personally I think when you look at both teams full lineups, the Pats are a bit better on defense, and the Colts are a bit better on offense. Yeah, the Pats have Randy Moss, and Stallworth, and of course Tom Brady, but I think the combination of Peyton, Harrison, Gonzalez, Dallas, and Wayne just makes for a better offense, overall. Not sure who has the better O-line.
I am now a Packers fan since I have Favre as my fantasy QB and since they are doing so well. Keep in mind I'm from MN, that can get you killed around here.
Ugg. I hate the Packers. I don't care what Favre does. I'm a Bears fan. Period. Well, OK, Colts too.
I think the Steelers could cause some serious trouble for the Pats a few weeks from now.
God I hope so, cause right now it seems like the Colts and the Pats are all alone at the top. I don't see anyone else that can beat the Pats for the rest of the regular season. I think the Colts will come in with fire in their eyes for the Playoffs though and put a royal beatdown on the Pats.
Dallas is way overrated, in my opinion.
No, the whole NFC is way overrated. They, along with the Packers, are the best team in the NFC. It's just the AFC as a whole is better than the AFC, and the top tier teams in the AFC are just so far above everyone else it's silly.
The Colts are still underrated. Come playoffs I don't think they're going to go down without a fight, even if that means playing at Foxborough
Agreed. Though if the Colts go 15-1 and the Pats lose one, who's going to get homefield advantage? It's probably decided by regular season isn't it?
The most underrated team in the league though is the Steelers, at least it seems to me.
Possibly, though judging by their season so far, I think they are good, but not great. Or at least not on the same level as the Colts and the Pats.
Bears win it. FACT. Discussion over.
God I hope so, but as strong as the NFC North is this year, even if the Bears run the table the rest of the season, 11-5 still not might cut the mustard for playoff contention in that division.

I do agree with you on the injury potential situation, but personally I'm glad he let his collar bone heal naturally, that way the Lions skipped over him. :D But regardless he's having one heck of a breakout season, breaking the all time single game rushing record and on pace to break 2k yard rushing, which doesn't look out of reach. Also his best games came against teams with formidable (or so they were once called) defenses. (Bears, Chargers)
Yeah, and they lost Gonzalez during the game as well. They should have won anyway, but with those two players, I think the Colts would have come back and won it. Personally I think when you look at both teams full lineups, the Pats are a bit better on defense, and the Colts are a bit better on offense. I think with Harrison and if Gonzalez wouldn't have gotten hurt, the Colts would have come back as well. I also think that while Tom Brady is getting all of the press, Peyton should never be underestimated because another QB is having a great season. Peyton Manning is Peyton Manning. Enough said. When they meet up again in the playoffs (I'm going to say it's a fairly safe bet to make) and Peyton has all of his weapons, the Pats will be in some serious trouble.
Ugg. I hate the Packers. I don't care what Favre does. I'm a Bears fan. Period. Well, OK, Colts too.
Hey I'm from Minnesota and I'm a Pack fan, anything's possible. Plus, placing your hope in the Bears isn't looking like it's going to get you very far this season. At least you have the Colts as a backup. :P
God I hope so, cause right now it seems like the Colts and the Pats are all alone at the top. I don't see anyone else that can beat the Pats for the rest of the regular season. I think the Colts will come in with fire in their eyes for the Playoffs though and put a royal beatdown on the Pats.
Yeah if anyone's going to beat the Pats, it's going to be them. While Peyton doesn't like to lose and will be seeking revenge, I think it's still going to be a hard-fought game, and will probably get better ratings than the Super Bowl, considering whoever wins that game is going to win the SB. (Well ok, there's a 99% chance they will)
No, the whole NFC is way overrated. They, along with the Packers, are the best team in the NFC. It's just the AFC as a whole is better than the AFC, and the top tier teams in the AFC are just so far above everyone else it's silly.
Agreed, but after watching so much Sportscenter with all of those buffoons placing Dallas in the same league as the Colts and Pats just got to me. That was settled when the Pats manhandled the Cowboys. What an overhyped game.
Agreed. Though if the Colts go 15-1 and the Pats lose one, who's going to get homefield advantage? It's probably decided by regular season isn't it?
No idea, but I think when it comes to the rematch, I think homefield advantage could make all of the difference.
Possibly, though judging by their season so far, I think they are good, but not great. Or at least not on the same level as the Colts and the Pats.
Maybe it was just the destruction of the Ravens, but the Steelers have been looking pretty hot lately, and look to me as the only serious threat to the Pats perfect season. I guess we'll just have to wait a few more weeks to see.

It ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!
