Kraken you forgot one in the shockers column:
Vikes: 42
Lions: 10

Come on! First the Giants and now the Lions get beat down? Granted, they aren't too great of teams, but when compared to the Vikes, they're not too bad at all. Watch for the Vikings in the playoff picture. We're at SF next week, which compared to the last two should be an easy victory.

*laughs*, you're right ohmypurplemen23
if the vikings win the rest of thier games and green bay looses a couple more: they could very well either contend for the division or a wildcard.
i dont see it happening.
its great that you're a viking fan though!
i love the Pack and absoluty HATE the Vikings.
well, i kinda like em better now that Culpepper and Moss arent there anymore.
But!
that game should of been in the Shockers because A) It was a spanking and B) The Lions have played very decent all season and to get manhandled by a team that looked earlier in this season not as good...

my apologies!

I hope I didn't imply a chance at winning at the division, I have no doubt that GB will win the NFC North, but the Vikes are looking good so far for one of those wildcard spots.

is that a great matchup? well, i am happy that an SEC team is representing, but are these two the two top team?
hmmm...
No. Ohio State plays in a weak Big Ten. LSU plays in a tough SEC. LSU is going to mop the floor with OSU, just like Florida did. LSU may not be quite as good as Florida was last year, but they are still plenty good to beat OSU like a drum.
i happen to think that Virgina Tech should be up there instead of one or the other and ranked #1 as well.
damn, the NCAA needs a playoff system...grrrr
Yup, best way to determine it by far. Playoffs. Every single other NCAA sport has playoffs, including Div. 1-AA football(or whatever it's called now). Div. 1-A football is the only sport with anything like the BCS system. It's retarded. We've had exactly 1 year that I remember where it actually worked right and the two best teams really did play each other, that was USC- Texas.
well, will the Pats go unbeaten with a win tonight agianst the Ravens?
we will have to wait and see...
Probably, the Ravens aren't the same team this year. Hope not though.

Chicago has not won two games in a row all year, in fact, they've only lost 2 games in a row as well. They win one, lose one, win one, lose one. Ever since they lost their opener and the next game, it's been that way. They lost last night in a close one to the Giants.

BTW, Tennessee is in the Outback Bowl, not the Orange Bowl.

College football, I can talk about all day. NFL, not so much.

LSU's defense has slacked off in the past three games. IF OSU can muster some firepower on offense there might be a game to watch. IF LSU plays like they did for teh majority of the season, OSU will be wanting to switch bowls with someone.

Oh, and my team Mississippi State is goin to the Liberty Bowl! Look out UCF :*laughs*:

Well, maybe, but I doubt LSU will lose even if they have a less than stellar day on defense. The difference between the two is just too big I think. Big Ten is pretty mediocre, and OSU wasn't even undefeated.

My team ain't doing a thing in the post-season. Boo sucky Notre Dame.

aaah! another week of football coming to its close!
and all i can say is: how 'bout them Patriots?
they faced probably the best team that they are going to face this regular season and: WHAM! they put a hurtin on them Steelers.
i mean, 13-34 isnt epic or anything, but.....

ShoCKeRS!?!
I tell you, i was at drill all weekend and only got to listen to two games on the radio. One of them was the Dallas v/s Detriot game.
my lord, whatta finish. but! had Detriot gotten that earlier field goal...
but Dallas beating them by just 1 point!?
and how about Houston beating Tampa Bay!?
WTF!? Tampa has looked so daggone good these past few weeks to be beaten by HOUSTON?

The Colts put a whallopin on the Ravens, which i was suprised by.
and how about them Redskins eh?

I was surprised by the 14-10 score of the Pats-Ravens game.

I was even more surprised when the Colts rolled over them like they weren't even there. It was 23-0 in the first QUARTER. 30-0 early in the 2nd Quarter. 37-7 at half. I stopped watching then, there wasn't much point, the Colts have the Ravens whipped good. I tuned in for the final few minutes when the Ravens put Troy Smith in. He got his first NFL touchdown, so the Ravens only lost by 24 points instead of 31. The Colts took Peyton and the rest of their first string team out midway through the 3rd quarter. It was like a preseason game, except the Ravens first string had trouble moving the ball against the Colts second string team. Ain't nothing wrong with that Colts defense either. Buncha interceptions, sacks, and they stopped the run very effectively. Needless to say, 44-20 is a very impressive final score. The Colts looked more like the Patriots than the Patriots did.

Funniest thing about this weekend: Colts are 11-2, but still have clinched their division. The AFC South is just that good. Houston and Tennesee are pretty darn good teams, and Jacksonville is a good team. In any other division, Jacksonville would be the dominant team, and in any other division, the Colts would have both clinched it and probably have a first round bye at this point.

Bears lost to the Skins. Dammit. There goes any remaining playoff hopes for da Bears.

The Pats didn't really pull away until the second half. The fire just seemed to go out of the Steelers and they just got run over. The Pats passing game was just insane.

The Ravens were still recovering from playing their best game ever last week, be it as it may, it was still an impressive victory for the Colts....

The Pats also had an impressive victory scoring 34 points against arguably the league's best defense....

The Vikes could just be the hottest team in the league right now (excluding the Pats), blowing out the Lions, Giants, and the Niners. Next up, Bears. Good luck Volky... ;) Now those might not be the best teams, but they all got beat down in a sort of Patriot-esque manner and the Lions just about upset the Cowboys.

Jacksonville has proven that they can't beat the Colts. Despite the Colts playing in a tough division, the Cowboys, Packers, and Patriots would all be in the same situation standing-wise if they were in the AFC South instead of the Colts.

The Bucs lost... I was disappointed I want them to go to the Super Bowl this year but not if they're going to play like that.

I'm sick of terrible MNF games. Seriously... Saints/Falcons... no thank you.

Except I can't complain about next Monday's game. though, Min/Chi... at the dome.

Patriots probably yes, Cowboys and Packers probably not. I'd give good odds on Jacksonville beating the Packers and Cowboys. I'd bet the Colts would whip the stuffing out of both teams. I just don't think anyone is playing on the same level as those guys. The Chargers barely beat the Colts, and that was with all their receivers but Wayne injured, and Vinaterri had to miss a 29 yard field goal. The Pats barely squeaked by them as well. Also, the AFC South is the only division with every single team in potential playoff contention. Patriots are just about the only other team I see staying on top if they were in the AFC South.

Indeed.

They'll probably beat the Bears. I don't know if I believe that "hottest team in the league" stuff though. Yeah they're good, but lets see them play some quality opponents.
Except I can't complain about next Monday's game. though, Min/Chi... at the dome.
Should be good. I'm hoping the Bears defense steps up and shows it's true colors.

Haha sorry Carbz, but the Steelers just lost to Jacksonville...

The Vikings versus da Bears was just a terrible game. No offense whatsoever except for one pass by Tarvaris and maybe a few runs by AP. The Bears did a nice job of keeping him at bay though. 5 in a row though, can't complain. Big game for the Vikes next weekend, playing the Skins who are 7-7 and still in the playoff hunt. We need a quarterback who can play if were going to make it past the first round of the playoffs and we've only seen bits an pieces from Tarvaris Jackson. Your Bears need a QB too Volk. Donovan McNabb might be a good choice for either team if Tarvaris doesn't step up.

Yup. Griese is average, Orton is rusty, and Grossman just plain sucks. Bears were plus 4 in turnovers and they bloody LOST. What happened to Brad Johnson? He was really good for the Vikings last year.

Colts squeaked by Oakland, surprising, but a win is a win.

My hatred of the Patriots remains implacable, but a new team has joined them on that level: the Chargers. I find myself seriously hoping that Tom Brady suffers a career ending injury against the Chargers. And then the Chargers go to the Superbowl and lose. Hopefully to the Giants. Eli needs a Superbowl ring I think, to compare with his brother's.

However, one thing to still be happy about this season. Of the two teams that beat the Packers this season, the Bears are one. And even better than that, the Bears did it twice. Now the Bears just need to offer the Browns QB an absolutely ridiculous salary and finally get a decent QB. Or possibly snarf up Colt Brennan from the draft.

Still can't believe the damn Chargers beat the Colts. How do the Colts not just roll over them? I mean, Christ, they nearly won earlier in the year and that was with Peyton throwing 6 picks and Vinaterri missing a chipshot field goal.

And what's with the BACKUP QB taking the Chargers down the field for what turns out to be the game winning touchdown???

OK, so predictions:

Chargers get stomped by Pats, unless aforementioned injury happens to Tom Brady.

Giants have a shot against the Packers, but probably won't win, unless either Ryan Grant or Bret Favre get injured.

Superbowl:

Chargers vs Packers: Chargers probably win, won't really care what happen though, as I don't like either team.

Chargers vs. Giants : Chargers almost certainly win, but I'll be rooting for the Giants

Patriots vs either team: Pats destroy them. Unless Tom Brady gets injured. Patriots vs. Packers is probably the worst Superbowl imaginable for me. Sort of fitting though, since last years Superbowl was the bestest one EVAR for me.

Incredible weekend of football though, you pegged that.

Oh and LSU, OSU? Who called it? Booyah. OSU got SPANKED.
