Ok, the edit button is being an arse...
You'd have the sacking options, you'd key yourself up to go, and then it would pop up saying "You can only do this with the combined troop attacks!" It's easier this way, to be honest. The sacking options would be there, but basically useless for most attacks; it's needless clutter and confusing to the newbies.
could AJAX not be used to only display them options when a specific attack type is selected? - if anyone knows AJAX that is, 'cause I don't.

Yeah, I suppose it could. Having certain options only work with specialized attacks still overcomplicates things without much need, though. At least, that's the way I see it right now.

The second part of my last post is probably more relevant to this discussion. :P

At Valhall classic you can only steal peoples gold using the mage stealing attack. troops sacking doesn't exist. I think if sacking is gonna stay, it should be reduced substancially and harder to do.

I think sacking should involve all troops including mage, but hey do what is best, I am sure it will work out no matter how you Tweak it.

RWL recently made sack yields based on ratio as a percentage. If the mage had a ratio of 200 it was double powered, and if it was an indier with a ratio of 5 it works at 1/20th of its full power. Sack is already severely reduced there to about 3% of the total cash available as a base value, and it can be done while also taking land.

Something similar could probably work here. Not the same, obviously since the game dynamic is so different, but the ideas are out there and so far it is working well.

I think a system more similar to what Valhall made would work here. Well it would actually work even better than it does at Valhall, because you guys are already used to Maging backwards.

How does it work at Valhall? I didn't stick around long enough to find out.

Well this is only in Valhall Strategy anyways, which is our weirdest game.

It works just like an STD, except you have to have the defenders defense points x2 to break and you lose a little extra health. From there I forgot the ratios, but you take a large fraction of their money and food, then it says something about some of it being lost, I forgot the message. But you end up getting a smaller amount than you stole, which is sometimes a very small amount, sometimes huge (Again, has a range of percents like other attacks).

It probably sounds weird but most people like it. However, I'm sure that it would need to be altered to work here.

That's another option -- needing a higher ratio to sack in addition to lowering the percentages.

Or the percentages could be proportional to the number of towers per acre.

There are many ways forward. I like Freen's idea too, although I'm not particularly keen on it, because I've never though of the double troop attacks as anything special, and they're still below what a standard is.
