Yea, we left before that one was even due to go near Florida, though they were saying it was going to just go up the right of Florida on TV etc, they make a big deal out of it though, but i suppose they have to... We caught the end winds of Hanna. Gustav actually hit New Orleans as a cat. 2 and not cat. 6 like some articles stated it would all over Digg.

This is why government ought to own the means of production, or at least compete in them. This price hike is artificial.

If the government owned the means of production, the price would be that high as a result of inefficiencies that a lack of market competition allow to happen. Either that, or we would have something like when Jimmy Carter set a price limit on gas, rationing or an utter lack of supply.

Ah, but is that the case with USPS? No. It's because the government competes. Taxpayers keep the corporations cheap, corporations keep taxpayers efficient. It's only reasonable to have a stake in directing the market if by nothing else than competition.
